Widebody kit (carmate)

Hey guys,

So, i've tossed up the idea of a widebody kit for a while now (years actually) and decided to get some prices.

I found a place in NSW, Carmate, who offer the kit fitted (ready for paint) for ~3.2k. I'm getting the car vinyl wrapped on its return to Victoria.

This seems like a pretty good price to me, but just wondering if anyone has dealt with Carmate before and have feedback (or other options for suppliers/fitters).

I did find the kit substantially cheaper in NZ, delivery included, but I like the idea of the supplier fitting them because its less likely the kit won't turn up and not fit.

On another note, I have a lot of other body parts i've collected over the years (and never got around to fitting) that I will be putting up for sale. Off the top of my head I have a rev5 wing, border rear pods, bomex mirrors (both revisions, 1 is currently installed though), border front bar, border side skirts, rev3 (i think, the 3 piece one) wing. So, if you are interested in them give me a message or I will put em in the for sale section once I work out what they are worth haha.

Thanks

    Have you tried Motorkitz?

    http://www.motorkitz.com/

I bought a Carbon Fibre Autopista style wing off of them about a year and a half ago. Based in Ringwood (I think, I met the guy in Box Hill to pick up the wing A/H) so could save you the trip up to Sydney.

I can't comment on the quality of their installation work since I installed the wing myself, but at the time I asked if they do the TRD widebody kit (just out of curiosity). They gave me a rough figure of $2.5K+3K installed and painted (standard colour, non mettalic, etc). But that's not a definitive quote obviously, sounded a bit too cheap to be honest, but they're probably worth talking to.

Hmm, in the meantime I may be interested in a set of your Bomex Mirrors . Got any pics?

    ....insert witty comment here.....

Which revision mirrors are you after?

Also, I did email motorkitz, they replied with the cost of the kit. I asked if it included everything (fuel cap etc) and they never replied haha.

I didnt realise they do installs as well so will email them again.

    Cheers,

He's overseas with Chinese New Year at the moment, i'll get him to email you back.
As far as I'm aware the kit does include the fuel lid.

    Thanks mate,

I got through to him and gave him my mobile number but haven't heard anything. Might give him a ring to see whats up, but I'm not in a rush as I just blew the turbo on my ute and thus blew my widebody budget.
