One other thing I was taught first time I was there, sit mid track going into turn 4 at the top of the hill, the extra speed you can take through turn 3 outweighs the gains in running wide and straightening turn 4. At the end of the day this is not one of the easiest tracks to get right, second time for me and I am still finding myself in different places leaving a corner without really knowing why most of the time. Makes camera footage priceless to review.

Yeah that too. The ripple strip on the left after turn 3 isn't really necessary because the best line doesn't go that far to the left .

There is an extensive build thread for my car here: http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=18316

I disagree. Have a look at my video where I am chasing the Exige. You will see that I catch up a lot by turning in late to turn 3 and keeping it to the left thereby allowing a squirt of power between turn 3 and 4 which closes the gap significantly.

Late to turn three you were, but far from using the ripple strip on the left which is where the initial comment emanated, and is which how it was explained to me. And you have displayed that for us. Awesome toy you have have by the way

I don't think so. I have had the rack rebuilt though no changes were made to the ratio. That doesn't mean that a previous owner in Japan didn't do it though. Are you turning the wheel more than me?

Have not watch your video, Just notice when I'm went around Wakefield, I feel that I'm turning the wheel more than normal, it might be because the car is a ADM NA it in it past life, it seems to be difference to my 92 JDM Turbo.

If you feel you are turning the wheel too far either way at any kind of speed, you're doing it wrong.  You should go back to the drawing board and learn how to set up and drive your car as is.  Stuffing around with replacing parts for the sake of it is going to get you nowhere.

As for racing lines, everyone will have their own preference.  In some cases, one line (albeit geometrically inefficient) may be faster for cars with more pull than others.  It will always come down to the driver on the day to make the decision as to which line to follow.  Sometimes, others will agree, sometimes, disagree, but hey, that's just a driver's personal preference :)

For turn 3 I tend to stay more in the middle of the road rather than go further to the left. I used to do a late turn in and stay close to the left but someone suggested to stick to the middle and it felt faster so that's what I do now. At MTC, Geoff Fear said I should go further left (like i used to do) so I tried that and that felt fast as well. Slower going into 3 but i could carry more speed through 4. For my driving and my car, I guess it doesn't matter too much.

Steering ratio- mine is non power steering so has the slower rack. Quicker steering would be nice but I haven't felt mine is a problem or holding me back. Only time I need to grab another handful of lock is if I need to make a big correction or do a skid/spin.
