Finally starting to relax after a great few days. My 3rd MTC & had lots of fun. Starting to understand more of how a track day works.
Arrived at WP on Sunday morning hoping we could get into the cabins at around lunch time, but it wasn't to be. Some of the guys had arrived a day early for the Track School, so I had a chat. Found 1 other person with an MR2 that had no idea about MTC.

I got his email address so we can let him know about the next one.
Glenn arrived with the Car Number stickers, so we got things out of the car & set up in the café to put them in the info pacs. The café closed just after 3.30 & we still didn't have the cabin keys yet, but were able to get into the pit lane garages, so I could direct people to their relevant garages & they could unpack some things. Finally got the keys around 4. We had 58 people arriving for the Sunday night, so Steve decided to do a track walk at 7pm. I think it was 8 when it happened, but that didn't matter. BBQ's were ready, people had brought meat to cook. Everyone who brought food had extra, so there was plenty of variety.
It was a very warm Monday morning, but everyone was keen to get out there & go fast, so people were down at the garages nice & early to get things ready. It was a little manic in the tower office for sign on, but thanks to Cait we got everyone signed on & given their wrist bands. I think everyone was there in time for the drivers brief.

I think some of the guys decided to forego a session or 2 due to the heat, so even tho we got behind schedule early in the day it was made up in the afternoon.
I think there were parties happening in more than 1 cabin on Monday night. We had BBQ for starters then Tree's special stir fry cooked by torch light out the front of cabin 3. Cabins were full, we had 66 people staying. There were little hills & hollows in the gravel & on the way back from cabin 5 I found one of them & ended up on my knees. Didn't realise until I got inside our cabin, that there was a bruised knee & blood

. Found the first aid kit, cleaned it up, had a shower, then Steve found some gauze bandage in the kit & stuck it on with band aids.
Tuesday on the track was as hot as the previous day. We had another 3 guys arrive for the 2nd day. It was another great fun day of competition. More passenger laps than the Monday, so I had more scairy fun. I just got out of one car (can't remember which one). Saw Adrian's car come past & had said earlier that I wanted to go for a ride. Cait got out of the car, I got in, checking the seat belt & helmet. We got to the wave off spot & I looked over to find it was Travis in the drivers seat, lol.
Then it was off to invade the HIBO for dinner, first time I've stayed for the Tuesday night

. I think the chilli burger & fries was shared between 4 of the guys.
Everyone ended up heading to cabin 5 for the results, which took a couple of hours to read out. Aaron & Cait did a great job transferring all the info. The SA guys also had a gift for me of a Go-Pro

, unnecessary, but very much appreciated, now I just have to work out how to use it. They also presented Steve with a great plaque that Rodney had made.
Wednesday was much quieter with a dozen guys staying on. There was 1 other NSW club member that came in just for the day. More passenger laps, plus they talked me into getting the licence & having a drive. I took Michael's NA out for a few laps & then they kept insisting that I drive a turbo, so I took FZERO out. Putting the foot down for the straight I enjoy, but still not a big fan of driving around corners fast, so I'll just be happy going for the passenger laps.
Thanks to Steve for creating such a great event. It has been said that this is a fairly unique event. With all the different disciplines & passenger laps, it makes it fun even for people like me, who are happy to not drive fast, but just watch & sit in the passenger seat. Thanks to all the people who helped & those who kept asking if there was something they could help with. If I was to name & tag ppl I'm sure i'd forget someone. U know who you are.
It feels like a big happy family when we all get together. I know that I can go to almost any State in the country & have someone to visit.
