What a great event with even better people.  As always i had a great time and hope this event returns in 2017.

For anyone reading this that has never attended this event that started way back in 2013!! do not hesitate to join next year. Even the people who break their cars have a smile from ear to ear as they drive home.

It sure was a hot drive home to 41c Melbourne yesterday.

Today it is 14c and rain lol....

Big applause to those who organised the event and everyone who attended. For my first MR2 event it was surely an experience unlike any other. The cars were amazing and along with the great people - it's hard to find another tight community that all share a common passion. Can't wait for next year and future events to come this year :)

Also I sorted the pads and caliper out by using a Camry :P

I completely agree with this. Considering I had issues from blowing intercooler pipes to partially melting an engine mount, I still had a blast in putting faces to what was previously just names on a forum, got to go see how the car performed in what was essentially a shakedown for it.

1 year to sort out the niggles and then come back to beat my 1:18.01 . Better lock in my regularity target at 1:14 ;)

Placings.

Individual results coming soon.

Some great looking results there, nice to see a good mix of long term mr2ists mixed with relatively newer devotees, nice outright results too (Alex - your car came up with the goods for you this year finally) ((The MR2 outright results are the only ones that count to me, newer cars against MR2's are like an adult Jonah Lomu bragging about how he thrashed the local under 8's team))

Thanks to Shaz to pointing out that I failed to include the Modified Under 2L class in the results.
I've now corrected my cut and paste fail...

Thanks Dudeman! Thought I was having issues, but managed to get a run in each discipline, and I think must have nailed regularity! You were missed this year, and you'll be pleased to see when you make it back that they've removed your tyre wall :-)

I made it back to Hobart this morning after a 10 hour drive across central Victoria, the boat across the Bass Strait and the 3 hour drive to Hobart. I was really stressed I wouldn’t get on the boat due to the incident a day earlier, I guess I was lucky.

In the queue to the boat I managed to lock myself out of the car so I had to break the passenger window to get in otherwise I would have missed the boat. The look on the on the other drivers and kids faces as I took to the car with a hammer was priceless!

The 3 track days and the journey to and from Wakefield in 35+ degree heat is a testament to these little cars, truly amazing what they can do. Here are a couple of photos of the car after the journey and also a demonstration of what you can fit in an SW20 if you fancy doing a similar trip!

It was a great event again this year. The management by Steve and the others was faultless as was the weather. It was a bit too hot and I had some cooling issues but not bad enough to stop me doing each event. On the 3rd day I gunned it big time and got the time I wanted inside the 1.10 which was the holy grail for me, I just made it – see video below and enjoy the induction noise (sorry the picture isn’t great).

After looking at the video Im sure I should be accelerating earlier out of the turns but without an LSD I get too much wheel spin and the rear end gets all squirmy. Im aiming to have that rectified for next year along with a few other things.

How does all the lap time voodoo work? Do you build a sensor into the car?

Harrys lap timer app, costs $20 and you are off, simple as that
