That's ok then.
I thought she said there wasn't going to be anyone there.  Maybe she meant that there would be no-one in the office.
Still won't be able to get into the cabins early like last year tho.

Hey everyone, I decided that I will definitely compete in the Wednesday night drags at WSID (Sydney Dragway) on January 13 after MTC. I want to achieve a 10 second pass!

If anyone else is interested in doing some drag racing after MTC, then come along and either join me as a competitor, or just spectate from up in the stands. The monthly MR2 meet has been moved to Sydney Dragway on that night as a one-off thing, so there should be plenty of Sydney MR2 owners up in the stands spectating.

Here is a link to the event on the Sydney Dragway website where you can find more information:
http://www.sydneydragway.com.au/events/r4r130116/

Even if you're participating in the third day of MTC, you will still be able to make it to Sydney Dragway with time to spare (gates open at 4:30pm and racing is from 6pm-10pm, but scrutineering is open until 8pm so competitors can arrive up until just before 8pm, provided that they don't reach the maximum number of competitors before that).

Just a bit of help, I see my entry is on the list, but I have yet to receive a confirmation email etc.

Also while I put myself down for modifed, I have run into delays with getting my car registered (engineer emission/brake test was pushed back to the first week of the new year.) Not sure what that will look like if it doesn't get rego'd in time for the event.

Yes, gates will be open all day Sunday.
If you are arriving before 4.30 you will be able to put your car around the back of the garages.  Just make sure you "don't get in the way".
We will be able to get into the cabins around 2ish.  I'll probably be there around lunch time tho.
If you are arriving after 5.30pm the gate up to the cabins may be locked, so you will just need to give one of us a call to come & let you in.  You can try messaging on here or FB, but not sure how good the internet is.
Send me a PM if you need my number.

If you would like a particular number & haven't yet asked you will need to let me know by the 29th.

Circumstances have changed, I'm back in. Testing car now, so far scary/super fast. If it brakes down I bring My Red 92 Hard Top SW20 Mr2 which I crashed last year. It is repaired, painting required still. May not get painting done in time, it will be painted with primer.

On a slightly different topic but relevant... I was there at the birth of Steve B24 engine staring up for the first time ...it had a growl that would silence an alpha male lion, and a soul penetrating sound that you could feel vibrating in your chest. Needless to say, it put the fear of God in me, moreso, the fear of Steve!

Eric.    Lots and lots of work I know.
I really enjoyed MTC last year and I'm sure its going to be even better this time.  Highlight of my year !!
Ive just gotten through checking fuel and oil pressures, compressions, brake pads and hoses, steering gear etc.
Fitted new Platinum plugs and new front tyres.
Wont be long now.

Looks like we have a great turn out for 2016.
My sleepless nights have started. I hope I get some control over this before MTC!
As stated in a new thread, the noise limit is set at a lower level due to harassment from a local 'misery group'.
If the tine goes to plan, my car will turn its first wheel in anger with the 2GR at MTC 2016. Tune is on the 5th of January in Adelaide.
I have purchased a Hardtop turbo which will be driven by Ken Matsuda and Kazumasa.
Kazumasa is arriving on the 10th then driving straight to the track. Anyone interested in going for a drive with him or giving him a lift, let it be known.

Its great to see 35 MR2's competing at a timed motorsport event. As much as there have been larger turnouts for non competitive events in previous years, this must be the largest number of MR2's participating in a competitive event in Australia. If not it doesn't really matter as its a fantastic turnout by all MR2 owners involved in a event which is recognized in numerous countries around the world.

Wishing everyone the best in the their final prep for this event.

I should have said "most distance driven to a MR2 competitive event in the car they are competing in" lol
1800kms is a long way for me to push the car home if i break anything! I did a total of over 4000kms travelling to the event, competing and travelling home...

Johhny drove over from WA to Brisbane for the Nationals in June.  He competed in the 1/2 day of sprints that were part of the Nationals.
