They'd be fantastic on a track car… but for a road car that you want to keep legal, fitting ITB's is all a bit of a headache!

Plus you'd need a new aftermarket ECU and a tune... would definitely add up....

If you run an air box you can still use an AFM.

I'm not sure what the rules are in other states, but in NSW, you now need to have all non-standard fuel system parts and ECUs certified by an engineer to stay legal. Call me a pussy, but I prefer staying OEM on bits like this. It gives me great satisfaction that when you open the engine lid on my car, it's all original Toyota parts in there! Besides that, I think BEAMS engines were really well sorted straight from the factory, so I don't have the urge to mess with it – unless, I was going go as far as Mandalay has done with his. Since that's out of my budget range, I guess I'll just have to wait until he decides to sell me his car at a 'friendly price'.

Thanks for the post on my manifolds, funny enough I only found this thread by accident when I was on here finding out about sponsorship for my 2GR into SW20 mounts. With this manifold I am happy to answer any questions people may have. While I don't have any independent dyno charts myself I have seen multiple reports of solid power gains going to quad throttles. Up to 15% with the right velocity stacks seems about right. Why there is this much when quite frankly there shouldn't be anything I don't know. Part of it might be from a more aggressive tune with the new ECU. Of note Link sells a plug in ECU now for the Beams harness.

I'd be interested to see dyno charts comparing the torque curve between BEAMS OEM (Yamaha) intake against an ITB setup. Obviously the top-end of the rev range would benefit from ITB's, but how much it would affect low-and-midrange torque, and how that feels on the road, is a point for discussion...

When my rev4 3SGE starts getting tired, or an unpassable bargain rev5 JDM SW20 halfcut appears...
