HEL Braided brake lines

Hi.

Anyone have any experience with HEL braided brakes lines (and clutch line too for that matter)?  Just wondering about the fit and finish in general (for an AW11 in my case).

Thanks.

Yes, I have used them.  They originally did not fit the car so I went back to the Hel rep here in Brisbane and he sent me a modifed version which fitted beautifully.  Make sure you order the set from the Brisbane supplier and not the UK.  For some reason I was the first to report the misfit so you need to be aware.  The internet had all sorts of posts from people using wire etc to make the old ones fit.  The correct one will take the OEM C clips and mount perfectly.  The only downside is that the fitting to the caliper does not have the wire tag (like the OEM one) to prevent the fitting from turning while tightening but none (as far as I know) of the aftermarket ones do.  If you're careful you'll get them on okay though.

    Good luck

I used a replacement OEM clutch line but the guy at Hel got my old clutch line to use as a model so the Hel one should be right.  If it isn't, he will fix it based on my experience.  If I needed a new clutch line again, I'd get the one from Hel.  He is a decent person to do business with.

I bought them for my ST205 and they look like they are good quality though don't fit without some tweaking. They also have no mounting brackets like the OEM ones do, so I had to mount them with cable ties. Not ideal....

Do NOT use cable ties.  If it doesn't fit contact Hel and they will fix it.  To install the brake lines do not cut the mounting ring on the strut.  Remove the C clip and the circlip.  You need both of these to mount the new Hel lines.  If you have trouble I'm happy to send you some photos I took while mounting mine.  You should do it properly without cable ties or tie wire etc.
