Beams fitment advice needed

Hi guys,
I believe i have to modify the strut tower in my SW20 to clear the timing belt cover for the redtop Beams.
Mister2 has sent me some pics of Mandalays and his installation, but i'm wondering how others have done this?
I don't want to just hammer it in, i'd prefer to keep it neat if possible.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Cheers
Rick

    Hi Rick,
I have the ex-Hayhow Red Top Conversion SW20, and can't see any obvious modification to the right rear strut tower - there seems to be plenty of clearance there. can you post the pic that you were sent and i will have a closer look at mine. Also, mine is 1990 model (not sure if that is relevant or not).

Ha. You know that hand built alloy bodies on classic cars are often hand shaped with ball-end hammers, don't you Rick? I'm not suggesting you just go mad and whack it wildy. It can be done in a "professional" enough manner that you'd never even know it was reshaped (a bit of very gentle heating can help with that too, in the same manner as people do when rolling their guards.) You only have to use a very small amount of force. It doesn't need to be flattened very much after all.

Yeah, i just wanted to see if anyone did anything differently. I don't want to start randomly bashing my car with a hammer lol.
I've added a couple of pics (from another member) of an install that wasn't modified. As you can see, there isn't much/any clearance from the strut tower. I'd like a bit more clearance than that.

First time i put the Beams in i could see that it was so very close.

One thing for sure its an engine out if you need to pull the head off.

So when i did the SC transformation i just cut the section that has the engine lid hook on. Then i made a mould of that section and made a carbon fibre part
