ACC voltage cut out when cranking/engine start?

I noticed after installing my boost gauge that when cranking the engine, the ACC volts drops out. Is that normal?
Because my boost gauge (wired to the clock) is one of those where it sweeps and beeps, once is enough but a second time after cranking can get annoying.

Though it does explain why my head-unit cuts out every time I start the car as well.

Yes it's normal for acc to cut out when cranking.
Accessories contacts in the ignition switch are open when cranking
