Tuban's MR2 "improvements"
Thought I'd post my 1990 turbo SW20 MR2 "improvements".
- small round fog lamps in place of the MR2 lamps. I thought they looked good. My wife disagreed and the MR2 forum agreed with my wife. I still like em:-)

- replaced the std shocks with very nice BR racing coilovers. they look great. now the nose of the car drags on the driveway. but feels good when I'm out of the driveway or out at Wakefield park.
- while on a 5am conference call I browsed ebay and bought a set of later model round taillights. I've fitted them and noticed no performance improvement and the boot lock is now recessed at a useless depth behind the rear panel.
- replaced std disc pads with red pads and better rotors. Now I often have an attractive high-pitched squeal from the pads. But they do feel great when stopping.
- added boost gauge. while on a test drive and watching the gauge I wasn't watching my rear vision and then noticed the flashing blue & red lights. but was only given a warning - this car must be lucky!
- had an on-off horrible sound from one rear axle after a day at Wakefield park and I dreaded axle bearing failure. but it was only a loose wheel axle nut - phew.
- I bought a Megasquirt ECU and I took so long to get around to installing it (i.e. fear) that I lost the intake air temp sensor. Back to WWW and bought a new sensor and the ECU install worked! The engine seems to not be as smooth as before:-( Then priced a dyno tune, should have done this before I bought the ECU:-(:-( But I love looking at the TunerStudio datalogs on my laptop. WTF do I do with 70 possible variables? So I'm now going to try the auto-tune option of TunerStudio. The next entry is going to be interesting.
