Oil Pressure

Hi,
Has anyone experienced problems with oil pressure on a modded 3rd gen (245) engine, making around 450-500hp ?
Is the original oil pump good enough for this kinda hp on the 3rd gen?

Any input will be highly appreciated....Thanks

Hi.. Ive been running a modified Gen3 (Rev4 shell) 3SGTE, producing between 420BHP and 475 depending on it E85 or not.. and still have a stock oil pump in it, and stock water pump.  I do run the engine on 10W60 fully synthetic race oil, Shell Helix Ultra Racing, but never had any issues with oil pressure. Defo set-up for E85! :)

Hey Jim, thanks a stack for your reply. I can now move forward with my build....feeling more at ease now!

Have you ever used 10W40 or 5W40 full synth oil on your current set-up?

I used 10W40 for the first 5 years of normal 1.2bar 300bhp use. i did try 5W40 but the stuffs way to thin when hot.. gives u noisey cams so very not recommeded. I started using 10W60 as quietens the engine down, as seem 10W60, or 10W50 is the choice amoungst those racing turbo Mr2s in the UK. if u head on over to www.fensport.co.uk, fill out the car selector for a gen3 turbo mr2, then look at service parts they only offer 10W40 to 60. Ive had alot of free advice of them guys over the years, but will stick with 10W60 if can get it here in Oz. still got 2 changes left on what i imported lol.
