I think you would have less police issues with that kit than the itb.

^ i would imagine so too, amazingly. It just looks less extreme.. or obvious bits are missing!
I hopefully can get the car back on the road with the ITB's, and have just bought an AE101 airbox to make things look a little more legitimate.
..But we'll see anyway. :)

spike10000;
lol.. I notice how it always the same handful of AW11'ers around the world who bid on the same bits I want - or are aware of it - or have things i want!
Shamefully, i was prepared to pay well above that too. I wanted both catalogues pretty bad! Making me feel guilty though..! :'(
Thats the whole AW11-related article I scanned anyway. (Those pictures look to be getting resized on this forum, so if you open them on another page/tab and get a closer look..)

Had to pull the bump strip off the drivers side.
Was a fairly painful task. I pulled those pieces off as carefully as I could, but they still got stretched. the door moulding was a good 10mm longer than it was beforehand, which made it longer than the door!
I put them in the sun and let them warm back to flat and straight, then put them in the fridge... for some reason...
Anyway, they're back to normal amazingly..!

The leftover glue was an absolute pain to remove. I used a razorblade, as I'm not exactly worried about the remaining paint there..

anyway...

Drivers side now stripped.
At this stage I'm still resisting a full repaint; Planning to do just the drivers side.
While the rest of the paint is nothing flash, its the original paint, and has lasted too long to get rid of it. But I may be persuaded.. we'll see.
One argument against it is that I'm actually 2 decals short (I'm wanting to re-do this using the original Toyota pinstriping) Hadn't realized.. fffuu..
It looks as though the ones I have are at least the last ones from Japan and the US. I'll have to see what Aussie Toyota dealers have in stock...

I've noticed that too Ross, thankfully it's only a handful like you mentioned. There really are some diehard adubers o/s though; i'm often left in amazement at the price some stuff sells for. If ever you make your way to NSW one day you're more than welcome to take a look at my adub shrine / mini-museum haha.

Found something on eBay that might be of interest to you.

An original Blitz Supercharger for the 4A.

Yeah I spotted that SC also.
What proof do you have it's originally for a 4A?
It looks like it might fit, but to me it looks like the seller has just put in a heap of search keywords because it's similar capacity to an SC14.
They also commonly sell stuff at ridiculous prices (although their items are usually very clean). Even though it might attract a JDM tax since it's a blitz, is it really worth it unless you knew it was originally designed as a GZE bolt on upgrade?

If you do a quick google around for "Blitz supercharger", it actually looks a lot like a 1ZZ-FE bolt-on.

I cant picture how that supercharger would sit on a 4A, where it wouldn't be up-side down..!
Like Maj said; I'm getting the 1ZZFE vibe. Despite also looking too modern for anything less than a 20V 4AGE, Toyota's ZZ engines have intake and exhaust flow through the head in reverse to the A series.. which would leave that up the right way..

Its def cool regardless though, AND at this point it is worth mentioning that there genuinely is a Blitz Supercharger kit for the AW11. I know I have the photos saved on my computer somewhere.. and can upload and repost them if anyone is particularly curious..

I'm partially interested in the Blitz info, if you can dig it up post away.

Also PM me what you want translated and I'll see if my wife can help out, although she's not to good with technical translations.

heh.. new forum software.
hopefully this works.. :)

I may have more photos on my computer here somewhere (have ~5000 MR2-related pics saved.. :S), but heres a set I have, likely from an ebay ad. From memory, this was owned by another big adub fan in the US...

Awesome stuff.
Seems to be about as common as the HKS kit.. which means they arent exactly thick on the ground..!

Any chance she could figure out what is the difference between the prices of AW11 kits on this page?

before/after tax? plus intercooler? plus F-con?

Figuring out Hiragana would be easy enough, it's Kanji that will kill you. If you are lucky you might find an optical character recognition app that can identify them though.

Love that intake manifold for the Blitz supercharger. Would make bolting up a different blower to our engine 100x more easy if you could get a hold of something like that, although cooling the charge then becomes interesting.

I've printed the page out at A3 and will see what can be done, although I may need to work up some brownie points first before they can be cashed in.

That was an entertaining conversation, I think you're going to be disappointed with the lack of detail.  My wife said the article sounds like it written for "stupid young initial D kids", everything is sales spin with not a lot of technical detail.  I'd like to preface the following by saying that some literal meanings may have been lost in translation.

A - The text under "Super Charger" suggests that it is a ****el type unit that is super reliable and different form a turbo.

B - The caption under the CRX talks about the stage 1 kit fitted to it, goes on about speed in gears and the final sentence is "This is awesome!"

C - The text describing the "System" 1, 2 & 3 supercharger kits is as follows...  "Forget about turbo tune, super-charger is getting more and more popular lately. Yay! (the yay is literally there)  It doesn't have the power that goes zoom like the turbo, but the feeling that is like mega-tune is going to be awesome on the street or the hills"

D - Text in the intercooler caption describes the purpose/operation of an intercooler.

Top left table - "System" 1 SC kit with intercooler prices.
Top right table - "System" 1,2 & 3 SC kit prices (no detail or explanation on what is included in the various stages)
Bottom tables - Intercooler kits, prices for painted and unpainted.

E - Caption under bottom right table (star) "OT - boys racer turbo, NT - new street turbo, BT bypass street turbo"

I trust this is as entertaining for the reader as it has been for the translator.  I couldn't believe they actually had "boys racer" written down!
