You're way too modest. Sure lil red might not be 100% and has covered a metric ****-ton of kms over the years, but the money you've spent on the level of detail you have does show, no other adub compares. Any flaws it may have does not show up in photos either since A) you keep it meticulously clean. and B) you are good at taking photos.
You should try and get lil red on Speedhunters #Featurethis
always the flattering photos! :P
and took your advice. sent some pics in to speedhunters, and it was up a couple hours later! :)

Got flagged aside going through a booze-bus a fortnight ago (whopping 3 weeks after i got the car back..), by highway patrol. Found a couple things wrong quickly, and gave the car a Major defect.
The defect was really only for simple things: Too low, wheels too wide, too much poke on the rear, no hornpad, numberplate bulbs, and the 2800K yellow headlights (shamefully, the original thing that caught his attention.. and i knew they would. im so stupid sometimes..). more than three things and they just stop looking and give it a major. fair enough..
This means i need to get a RWC aswell to clear the defect.
I swapped the Raybrigs and bulbs out for the stockers, put on the stock wheels, stock wheel back on, stock shifter and knob, a couple bulbs..
.. and then tried for a roadworthy.
The RWC guy is a really nice bloke - and he liked the car - but no joy.
In recent years i've managed to replace
every bush, all balljoints, all bearings, tie rods (and rear inners), rack ends, brake rotors/pads/lines, clutch master/slave, steering rack, entire coolant system, all handbrake cables, throttle cable, driveshafts, transaxle, and engine twice..
..the car needs
nothing..
BUT - having
NO emissions/EGR stuff on the motor isn't ideal. He liked the car, but it was just too risky to pass. :(
(it was also still too low; but I've still got the stock struts at home, so that's not an issue)
I just don't know what to do about the bloody engine bay.
I honestly just want to return everything to stock, but I just cant afford it anymore. little red has totally run me dry.
Part of me wants to keep the Haltech/ITB's; but the thought of mocking it up with the standard manifold, dummy AFM and oxy sensor, quick tune, and sneaking it through a roadie - only to swap it back - seems like trouble. As with all these things, there will be hidden costs.. and i just have to know when to stop.
As of last weekend i cant drive it anymore, and i haven't given it much more thought.
I think I'm just going to buy another engine bay loom from the UK and swap everything back myself.. but i really want it
all gone. I want to go back to bigport 4ag pistons, i want the stock cams back in, and the stock header.
It had pretty serious issues on the stock computer before (with the cams, higher comp pistons), so i still honestly just miss the original pre-rebuild setup. I loved it when it was stock and old... i loved it when i could flog it all the time, and not worry about it running lean.. or rich.. or breaking something else that wasn't meant to be like that. :(
Ian (the mechanic) suggested trying to get club rego on it, as its now 25 years old. But id need a club (Mr2 club, Toyota club, whatever) to pass it with the current setup, which they may be hesitant to do.
Little red WAS also my daily, so it would mean i can no longer drive it every day.. :(
I don't know what to do. :(
