 thanks for that link.
i watched it until it finished yesterday; but pussied out. At over $900 to me, and with no intention to use it, i just couldn't do it.
you'd be hard pressed finding a nicer one too. was perfect.

I couldn't believe it went so high!! ahah should of got it and motivated yourself to finish the hks s/c kit. I must say your adub looks perfect in those photos in the rain!!

^ quality parts in GOOD condition will always be worth coin. Theres a solid handful of AW11 owners around the world, willing to spend any money on rare **** they dont need.
dont really have any intention of putting the HKS kit on nowadays; but def want to restore it. I have the kits original cooler anyway (but just <3 ARC!).
BUT, i have just bought all the bits to go ITB's. more on that later.. ;)

karnage;
photos were at marysville-lakemountain, then lakemountain-warburton, then mt donna buang.
classic drive. :)

Mrskylighter;
surely mentioned many times in this thread; but its:
15x7.5 +29 195/50 R15
15x8.5 +29 205/50 R15
wouldnt reccomend if you're trying to get a wide tyre on; as i was just trying to get a wide wheel on the back - its 8.5"!
popular setup for wide tyres would probably be something like:
15x7 +35 205/50
15x8 +35 225/45 (?) with a little pulling.

:D
pretty much because i enjoyed the raging airbox-less intake noise on your car so much! :O

update..
Just over 397,000km now. i do a LOT of unnecessary kays! :]
Still running the octane booster in every tank. No more than the amount it says on the bottle (~125ml for 30L), with Shell 98 (switched from BP), and still no more pinging noises. It's not an ideal solution, but its working.
Interestingly, I'm fairly confident the engine has never run as well as it does right now. its finally loosened up after its second re-build >5000km ago, and really screams along. would be perfect if it didnt have to take fkn 105ron Petrol; and driving around with the radio off n windows up, driving it with the head cocked sideways so i can hear it all the time.

gearing up for its 400k. really only a month or two away.
Havent spoken to the builder yet, or chosen a tuner/computer, but it will happen in advance. Not sure how long those bits take to get made (or if they're just off the shelf).
since 400k km will coincide with the cars 25th birthday, i decided to go all-out.
Good ol' lil reh.. keeps me properly broke. :]
**** i bought for it lately:

new repro OEM mats (i've wrecked my previous pair of these). randomly, i've actually been running my red JDM mats lately.. im actually loving them again..!

- Modaddiction purple SS mini gearknob (hard to show the colour properly!)
- 4" extension
not shown is a short shifter i put in the car.

4" extension with the black Razo knob.
i've been running the extension on the short shifter for a few weeks, and love it. OEM height, but just looks nicer as the shifter base hides out of view, leaving just the extension to see.
I've had a 8" Stainless extension made, which is on the way to me now. mirror polish, then good times. :]

gas strut for engine lid.
not much point in posting this, as i've actually pulled it back out.
its just so ghetto looking. the brackets are just generic drilled units, and only attach with one bolt hole. they look hack. i had a perfectly fine prop rod anyway, so thats back in..
the suede mod69 was back in for a week or so:

but a neat original TYPE C35 'ferrari' momo was on the way from Germany (!?!), so in that goes!

then..

rough-as-guts 20V silvertop ITB's. damn these are filthy. disappointing how neglected 20V's are in Japan. :[

T3 Bigport 16V-to-ITB manifold. fkn beautiful.

T3 trumpets and UNI filters. like the manifold, the trumpets are  fkn lovely.

vacuum line gear.

T3 Bigport 16V-to-ITB manifold. like the trumpets, fkn beautiful.

then..

Quaife 2.5 Lock-to-Lock quick rack
new rack ends
rack mount bushes.
i fkn adore the steering in the AW11 from the factory, but my logic (probably bad) is that this can only be better! i have a 350mm wheel and maxed caster, and i still feel the steering could be a little heavier. goddamn, the amount of information you get through the wheel on these cars.. fffu! :]
Besides, they're not dear, and since i already have the Quaife LSD (which i've been very happy with), I may as well go for their rack.

Slotted Rotors
Project Mu Type NS pads
Goodridge braided brake lines
will go with a quality brake fluid a the time too.

thats it for now! :)

Where did you get the repro mats from? I have generic ones in my car and the clutch pedal keeps getting stuck on them.

Edit: Found em - Twosrus. So the LHD mats work okay?

hi!
yep, twosrus
LHD mats fit, but they dont dont quite cover the drivers rubber mat properly, and have that little extra on the passenger side instead. no one would ever really notice though.
I like them.
scroll backwards through this thread; there should be plenty of pics of my interior showing the mats.

they're beautiful, but I've been happy with my Trust TR NA extractors so far. No intention to change them at this stage. :)
recent changes:

8" S/S extension. hilarious to use, but might get one last slightly shorter one made. :)

Sunroof shade (which i pretty-much never have in the sunroof, let alone in the car at all) trimmed in the tartan. may aswell.

also had all the boot paneling done, as the grey carpeting was badly showing its age. I dont really use the boot in these cars, so again, why the hell not! :)

i grin like an idiot every time i open the boot. so happy with how it turned out. :)

thats all for now.  :)

Still the best interior I have seen in an MR2. Actually probably still the best AW11 I have seen.

ha. glad ya's like. :)

The short shift kit was from ebay (UK). Its the one with the blue shifter spacer/drop plate. pretty average overall, but cant complain for the price. Is one of the only short ****s kits available anyway, and i only wanted it for the short chrome shifter itself.
The 4" extension is from Ebay (UK), I then had the 8" made by a guy in the US. Anywhere with a Lathe would be able to do the same though.

despite the short shifter, the throw with the 8" extension is still stupidly long. i don't mind it, as it helps get it into gear on cold mornings (the gearbox rebuild was not even 30,000km ago, and i still reckon it was a spectacularly crap effort).
having the knob high, means its easy to drop you hand from the wheel and bash it quickly into the next gear. The awkward height makes you want to keep your hands on the wheel, rather than resting your arm on the console.. which is definitely better.

i also cant wait to get all the intake gear on. :)

yeah, after installing the short shifter on mine the gear changes are defenitly worse, was so much better with a stock shifter, might look into it when i get some time.
