HAH.. thanks. :P but as if do that, your adub's mad. :)
..and supercharged. :(

anyway, i ended up winning that auction for the HKS kits original supercharger. was a whopping $35 in japan, but obviously i have to get it out here. $300 air, $160 sea.. I went sea. it takes so much longer, but $300 for that battered old cooler hurts.. :(
heres the only other pic of it i have. there are another two further up the page

anyone recognize it as off another car, im guessing in the mid 80's? I doubt it, as not alot was inter-cooled in those days. Its otherwise just a generic aftermarket cooler, but at least period-perfect. i just wanted to reunite it with the kit anyway. :P
as far as mounting it goes, im guessing it sat not far from where a factory supercharger cooler goes. the bracketry pictured and the piping i have, should give an indication as to where it used to sit. but I've asked importmonster to ask the seller wheter there are any pictures of when it was all installed.. hopefully i get a reply as thatd help a heap!

in other news, my gearbox is near fried nowadays. No suprise though.. I've been planning to get it done at 380,000 for a while now. it still shifts, but first to second crunches at high revs, and its noisy when in neutral.
At the same time, I've been really wanting an LSD for it. So lately i had to look into exactly what LSD i want for my C52 5spd box..
almost went with the TRD clutch unit, but haven't had the greatest of experiences with old worn clutch LSD's.. so went for the Helical Quaife instead.

Part No QDF15E
'lifetime' warranty, and install and forget. no special oil or anything more that as if it wasn't there. perfect. :)
anyway, I've ordered it, so just have to wait now. no rush, as i don't need it for 3,000km. :P

all for now. :)

^ heh.. i hope so!
Its on its way from the UK as we speak, but itl be a few weeks before it goes anyway.. so i just have to hurry up n do 3,000km. :P

also FINALLY got around to mounting my AW11 option powerfold fogs. feck i've had these sitting in a box for a while!

i reckon they look ****hot. super 80's. :P
not actually plugged in either... the plugs are up in the headlight bucket area, so its wouldnt be hard.. but ehhhh... i goes n carnt figur it owt. :S

edit..
in not so rad news, i ran over a rock/stone yesterday and dinted the back of the Fujitsubo. the whole dint is only the size of a 10cent piece, but i imagine its unrepairable.. theres just no way to get to it from the inside.
luckily you cant see it from the back of the car, but argh.. they just hang so bloody low. wrecked my day <_<

In other news, I've ordered some new wheels.
still love my SSR's; but since new wheels take a while to make, I may aswell order some now for later. :)
something a little more 80's this time 'round as well. :D

Work Meister CR 01. :)
I reckon they're great! look a little bit convo-pro in full polish, but their flat faces and big barrels remind me alot of high-end 80's custom sports cars. 930 turbo porsches, koenig specials n the like. :)
Its a shame the little AW11 cant take meatier sizes....
...but ill be doing my best!
after alot of measuring i've gone with:
15x7.5 +29 A-disk, 195/50 R15
15x8.5 +29 A-disk, 205/50 R15
technically the very regular 15x7/8 +35 combo with an extra 12mm slapped on the outside right round! :)
all in gun-metal grey with the polished lip. Its a shame they don't do them with a red centre.. but that can always be done later.

all for now. :)

Yessssss RdS FTW!!!!
Go the dish! Soon you'll need rivet on effoff arches!!! Lol J/K but seriously nice wheels 8.5"!!! You gonna stick with the kics lugs?
Shattered for you with the exhaust, if its of any consolation I've seen dings removed from motorcycle tubing via this method... (Fujitsubo exhaust removed and sealed at one end) - heat the spot with a heat gun or similar and then pump in compressed air and "pop" ding gone like i said ive seen it done but couldn't guarantee results on the exhaust just fyi, however first hand exp i have had it done to my steel fixie frame, multiple dings of decent spacing and it worked a treat its been pretty sweet since.
Nice shot with the lights on so tough... is that Doncaster WF was just there after work!!? Nice fogs super hot 80's!

Nice rims. Could've gone more aggressive up front though. My 15x8 +25 works well:

Your rim selection couldn't be better though.

^ yyeah, the AW11 can take wider; but remember when i was going through this on Toymods AW11OA thread, I simply wanted a stagger setup and staggered tires. Really only for looks. The choice of a 7.5 and 8.5 stagger was because of tires in the end.. and the availability of the 195/50 and 205/50 combo.

and thanks for the advice re the muffler mk1corse. :)
I'm not sure how that would work, since i thought the inside off the muffler tin itself was some sort of dense packing to stop noise. the dint's in the outer stainless of that, so its a pain to get from the inside or out. unless it can be sucked out or something? :S

n yep, Shoppo Doncaster. :P took those pictures on wednesday night! not far as i live in Eltham. :)

Can still use a 195/50/15 on a 8inch rim though. Stretch isn't that bad @ all. Just trying to make sure you get an adequate amount of dish for maximum era specific effect

i see.. :P

ideally id have blockier tread aswell.. but its just not going to happen with the AW11's little guards. if i want width, I'm going to have to go with a little stretch... but too much stretch is just not the look I'm after.
my car just wishes it was a nice 80's 930 turbo. <_<

interestingly, if i went with a one-piece wheel, I'd go a wider front and not worry about a stagger at all. I reckon AW11's are best with the same size/offset/tire right around, like factory. going wide on the back risks bulldozing the front, but if you want multipiece, you need a stagger.. non-stagered multi-piece rims hurt my head.
On the train of single size wheels again.. I'm very keen to get one last set of watanabe's down the track. dark grey/black, and nice and chunky.

:)
