MR2 1993 Turbo - NO POWER - wont start - no interior power -

Hi All,

I have just purchased a MR2 1993 rev 2 Turbo that was purchased from seeing a photo of the car under the view of a project to restore to like new condition - wow what did I get myself into but thats another storey.

The car was running.  I have general mechanical knowledge, I decided to so all servicing (spark plugs, thermostat, timing belt kit, adjuster tentioner, spark leads, all oils) and much more, remove the alarm (was connected to stop the car from starting by cut wires black wires along passenger side wiring loom and ignition), remove the turbo timer (all wires reconnected as per colours in loom).

The car now has no power.  I have checked the battery (its connected and has power), there is power at the starter motor, there is no interior power, no power at the ignition barrel, no power at the front fuse box (replaced all fuses) and test light tested. I have the service book about the wiring but its diagrams I cant understand or know where things are.

What would I be missing?

How does the main power run / work in the MR2 - any guidance / suggestions / experience will be greatly appreciated for what would be no power anywhere but the starter motor with or without the key in.

Regards

Tony

After a day of checking wiring and fuses coming up with nothing.  After a day of replacing all fuses and coming up with nothing and getting more people to look at the car.
A new set of eyes found that the batter connection ring had broken where the wire connects, so the ring appeared to be on the battery terminal and cable appeared to be next to battery, there was a centimeter gap from where it had broken.
    Now the project continues :)

There is a fusible link near the positive battery cable connector. Is that intact?

Anyway, you can download the USDM SW 20 electrical diagrams for free if you Google.
US models are basically the same as JDM as far as color codes etc.
