aw11

Hey guys. I bought this mr2 as a daily run around as my other car was snowballing into something crazy lol. I just needed something i can drive and park it anywhere and not stress about it. I just needed a nice lil daily. I've loved the aw11s and always wanted one for a long time.
I searched long and hard to find one in good condition and in my budget. I had a budget of 5k and I could find any in Sydney in good nic. So I searched Victoria found one I was committed to fly down and drive back. But I pulled out when I found this. The only trouble was it was all the way in WA. I just took a punt and just bought it sight unseen.... I had it couried by car carrier. The car costed me 3k delivered. Let me tell you when this car arrived it blew me away! The condition of the body is really good for its age the engine no oil leaks runs perfect. Car has only 180k. What spun me out the most was it was a genuine import. The bad parts are missing mould above the rear screen. Cracked a pillar interior trim. Suspension needs some work.

These are the pics I saw and bought it

I bought some new shoes 16x8.5 + 25 offset. Federal 595 tyres 195/45

Great buy. Hows the mechanicals? Unseen rust?

It does look like a steal for $2k. Two tone AW11's are gorgeous. Same colour as my old one. BBS RS is a perfect rim choice too.

    What's your other car?

Mechanicaly its almost perfect. Just shocks, front ball joints and rear lower control arm bushes need replacing. And clutch is on its way out. Apart from that it starts 1st g. idles beautifulls, compression is all in spec. No oil leaks. Ive already bought the bits to do the repairs just need time.

Rust yes :( slight bubbles near the t top. Small amount of surface rust on the radiator support. And a few other small bits here and there. But its to be expected for a almost 30yr old car. Yes the bbs rs are beautiful! My favorite.

My other car is a 86 honda prelude 2nd gen (not 4ws) people tell me I have a problem lol. It's true I just love 2dr cars that were built in the 80s Hahahaha.
I built my car from the ground up and the majority of the work was done by me. The only things I didn't do was the paint/rust repairs and exhaust system.

My plans for the mr2 is keep it nice and tidy leaving it stockish... a POSSIBLE rust repairs and repaint (later on in the future). Have the auto climate control working again. Maybe fit a supercharger maybe!! I Just want to keep it original as much as possible.
