Apexi Turbo timer problems

Hey guys and girls,

Recently I have seen that when I shut my car off the turbo timer doesn't keep the car running, it just shuts down straight away and I have to restart and shut down the engine again for the timer to kick in.

Has anyone had this problem before?  Is it a wiring issue or something else?  The timer is basically brand new, not even a year old

Is it a genuine or fake Apexi TT? If fake it might just be stuffed.

Probably going to start a war here, but Turbo timers are a waste of $$$.
Drive the last 1km of your drive sedately will achieve the same effect.
If you've been flogging your car so much that the oil temps are at the extremes to do damage to your turbo bearings when the motor is shut down, idling for 30secs is not going to lower the temps enough to prevent it.

Not a war. I find TT's very handy. My Legnum & MR2's have em fitted. Useful when I have to quickly relocate a cold car & don't want to hang around to give it time to avoid flooding.

    It's a genuine Apexi.

I don't drive my car the hardest (for fear of it breaking something) but just for peace of mind, it's better to have the TT on there and running the engine than doing a cold shut down.  I know it's only 30 sec which isn't much but it makes me feel better :)

    Do you have an immobiliser?

Sometimes alarms/immobilisers just don't sync with it properly.

I can lend you mine to test if its a problem with your unit or not. I never got around to installing it.

Where did you get the TT? if its was ebay, counterfeits have been rife on the ebay market for ages now, so could even come down to that.

I got Mark from MRC to install it as the one that mine came with was pretty much cactus.
It's been working ok again so far.  If it happens again Dyl, i'll let you know straight away and see if it's the unit.
    Thanks heaps.

BTW, funds are on the way to you shortly.  I have had some other (family) things that I needed to sort out first
    Sorry for the delay
