SUNDAY 4 MAY 2014 - DAVID HACK CLASSIC TOOWOOMBA

SUNDAY 4 MAY 2014 - DAVID HACK CLASSIC TOOWOOMBA
Each year we try something different to display the cars and increase public awareness of the Club. Although we will be attending the All-Japanese Day in mid-year as we always do, it has been suggested that the David Hack Classic at Toowoomba on Sunday the 4th of May would provide a different experience for everyone, particularly those that like the mix of aircraft and collector vehicles.

The Classic is held at the Aerotec Hangar at Toowoomba Airport, which is the home of the famous Zuccoli Aircraft Collection. Entry for us is $10.00 per car (the public pays more) with all proceeds going through the Toowoomba Rotary Club to various charities, including the Leukaemia Foundation and Care Flight.

Unfortunately for those of us (the President and Run Manager included) who like a sleep in on Sunday we have to be at Toowoomba Airport for the Classic by 8.15am to get the cars into position.

This means meeting at the BP Service Station, located on the left hand side of the Warrego Highway (travelling west) in Brassall, 1 km before the turn-off to the Brisbane Valley Highway to Esk (there is a Caltex Service Station 300m before the BP), at 6.45AM for a 7.00AM departure.

The plan for the day is to go straight to Toowoomba, remain at the Classic until about 1.30PM, and then return via some twisty back roads to blow the cobwebs out after the cars have been sitting for a few hours with people looking enviously at them.

The Roll Call is below, so please consider this Run as combining Club awareness, charity work, and twisty roads. What could be better??

ROLL CALL:

1. President Tralfaz and AW11 retrieved from museum.
2. Run Manager and SW20

Tralfaz
1989 AW11 SC G-Limited; all original and staying that way.
PLUS
SW20 G-Limited BEAMS
So much choice, so little time.

As is becoming the norm lately I must tender our apology.  I will be away in Tassie till mid May.

May I ask one question - which was retrieved from the museum, the Aw11 or . . .
    Have fun, all!

I will try, but I doubt I can make it there by 7am.

At least the AW11 will be represented in shiny form, mine is a tad cosmetically challenged for modelling, but she has a really great personality... and damn that girl can cook (corners, at 7500rpm). She would also be cooking up a storm at Lakeside Raceway if I was more organised.
