CLUB RUN SUNDAY 20 APRIL 2014 - EASTER EGG HUNT

CLUB RUN SUNDAY 20 APRIL 2014

We know that a lot of people go away for the Easter long weekend and won't be around to go on a Run.

However, if you have decided to take it easy and not brave the horrendous traffic to get to and from places (ever tried to go north on Easter Saturday or back to Brisbane on Easter Monday?), don't want to overwhelmed by all the people at your destination who have also decided to go exactly where you are going and trying to relax like you were planning on, and also not remembered that it's the last weekend of Queensland school holidays and the middle weekend of Mexican (NSW and VIC) school holidays (think hordes of kids saying "Daddy, I want an ice cream"), then the Club has a great Run for you on Sunday the 20th of April.

Sticking to our plan to Run on the 3rd Sunday of each month we are going to combine April's outing with an Easter Egg Hunt, so clean the car, get out your best Easter clothes and come along (Dennis, the Easter Bilby costume with the fishnets you were going to wear like the one on your Face Book Targa page is just not appropriate in public for the Club's image, sorry).

We will be meeting at Hungry Jack's, corner of Gympie Rd and Beams Rd, Carseldine, at 9.00am for 9.30am departure. The meeting place has a Caltex servo plus cafes, food shops, etc. for those who were partying the night before and missed breakfast. The Run will take us north west via Peachester to Kenilworth for lunch, up some very steep and  twisty roads, and then return via some equally twisty back roads.

The recon done yesterday shows that some of the down-hill roads that have been closed for a long time due to previous landslides are now open so we will be using these, plus there have been a lot of work done to repair and replace flood affected bridges. Also, for the shoppers (you know who you are), we will be returning via Montville, so there is an opportunity to enjoy the Run via some great roads then stop off individually to spend some money.

If you will be away over Easter then don't forget the upcoming display activity and Run to Toowoomba on Sunday the 4th of May (more details later) plus the Run on the 3rd Sunday in May.

If you are going to join us on the Easter Egg Hunt then please put your name on the Roll Call below. Hope to see you there.

Regrettably I must tender our apologies (again).  Preparations for Targa have limited the amount of time I had to spend in my workshop, so we are still not currently 2-enabled.  Enjoy the Easter Egg hunting!

    Eric,
don't be frightened of party poopers when you are with us.
Remember, its better to try and fail than not try at all.
This is going to be a great Run, we have booked at table at a nice spot for lunch, the weather is looking fantastic, and the roads we have chosen are excellent (I nearly said awesome there, what's the matter with me?).

Following discussions with the Social Secretary, there is a possibility we may join in as trail car - it'll be a Toyota, just not an MR2.  What's the lunch plan, byo or cafe style?

The Run Sheet will be sent out to all participants PM Saturday. Meeting place details are in the Run notice above but to advise in advance on lunch we have booked a nice table at a cheap eating place  location in Kenilworth. Should be a great day!
