I may not be making it too the practice day.  On the way back from Walter's place tonight the Adub burst the coolant / heater hose out of the head & the air bleed valve at the thermostat (conveniently just before the BP & Maccas on Milton Rd).  
 
Bursting the hose and valve simultaneously could just be a coincidence, however my gut feeling is that the 4AGE has blown a head gasket (micro bubbles / foam in the coolant, intermittent steam in the exhaust).  If this turns out to be the case I won't have it repaired by next month.

Sounds like the AGM was cursed :P

I also recall saying something along the lines of "AW11 & the 4A are pretty reliable for a daily" to you Kris, I think I may have cursed myself.

You will not require a HANS device, just a regular helmet with the Australian standards and certifications sticker on it and neck to wrist to ankle clothing. If you don't have one, you can get a basic open face helmet from a local motorbike shop for $60-70. I would also recommend getting a $30 fire extinguisher from Autobarn/Supercheap to fit into your car, even though there is a full fire service on hand at the track, those first 60 seconds you can save your car (or yourself) with a small extinguisher.
