PRESIDENT'S AFTER-RUN REPORT PLUS NEXT FEW ACTIVITIES FOR 2014

The "Mount Barney and More" Run on the 23rd of March was well attended and everyone enjoyed a great day out as you will see if you read the posts on that thread.
 
It was great to welcome FuzzNugget with his AW11 (Fredhoon and I thought we were the last ones left on Runs after the mysterious disappearance of Knightrous), and also to have Lumix back with his SW20 and excellent photography skills after finishing his last year at Uni (very relieved look). Check out the Run thread to see what I mean about the pics taken.
 
A highlight of the day was having someone on the Run who was not much older than Falcon (my father, Walter Snr, who will be 90 this year) so the next competition we have will be guessing how old Falcon really is as he doesn't look a day over 75.
 
Best Car on the Day was won by DV_S (this is getting monotonous) who every time we see him has added another few gadgets to his SW20. It was noticed that there appears to be some competition now going on between the red SW20 owners with Falcon also adding new bits here and there, so where this will all end is anyone's guess. A V6 transplant perhaps? Chrome-plated grease nipples? Wide body kit? The black SW20 gang have some catching up to do.
 
Our next Run is on Sunday the 20th of April 2014 as notified in the "sticky" for this year at the top of the Queensland page. We know that it's the Easter weekend but we are expecting that not everyone will be going away and the roads will be reasonably quiet, given that it's not the last day of the holiday break. Look out for the Run notification in the next few weeks.
 
Also note in your calendar that the Club will be attending the David Mark Classic on Sunday the 4th of May at Toowoomba Airport. The intention is to display the cars and then leave at about 2.00pm for a run back via an alternative twisty route down the range. This event showcases classic vintage and modern cars plus historical aircraft, and we have been invited to attend. Also look out for the Run notification in the next few weeks.

    Certainly was a SWT day out 😃 an Walter I kinda have a pile if gadgets sitting in the garage to still fit up so who knows what will be added next time an even a body kit that I'm contemplating either fitting it up or selling... but unfortunately I won't make the Easter run as I already have plans without realising it was club weekend 😏 an bout those chrome plated grease nipples I rather go platinum platted or ceramic coated these days 🌟
