Help / Advise: What turbo 4age smallport?

Can anyone suggest or know what a good / size turbo charger I should run on my aw11 4age small port engine (track car)?
I have been told a t25, GT28 or a tdo4 or td05 would be good.

I only want to run around 10psi, don't want to do any internal work to current engine, nor do I want to run an after market ECU.

I also want something small that will spool up very early like the 2000rpm mark.  Not looking for big power only to add a little more to the little engine.

Thoughts? comments?

T25, or td04 (like you would find on an early wrx).
Gt2860rs would be a bit laggier than your 2krpm.
Anything bigger will be a touch laggier than you want.

Although 10psi might be possible with standard ge internals, I would not be attempting to run that much boost without any tuning.

I think for track use you may want to stick to something around 6psi.

If I were attempting a budget turbo setup, I would do:
-ebay cast manifold t25 flange, be wary of manifolds for ae corollas, they wont clear the firewall.
    - s13 turbo
    - 2nd hand gze intercooler in the drivers side vent with a fan, or in stock gze location with a gze engine lid
    - mild steel 2.5 inch exhaust
    - gze injectors
    - megasquirt ecu (look on the forum, there are a few guys that are quite knowledgeable)

That setup tuned on wastegate pressure (would be 7-8psi), I would assume would be around 120rwkw or so, which is a comfortable 50% increase in power. Even then I think you could be pushing what is safe for track use.

The other thing you need to be prepared for is the increased heat in the engine bay, particularily inbetween the engine and the firewall. You may want to encourage airflow from under the car up and have the side fan running all the time (disconnect the engine bay temp sensor.)

Shift linkages, speedo and throttle cables, dizzy cap and your water lines which are now 20+ years old will be exposed to a lot more heat than they have for their whole working life, so you need to be prepared to try and shield them, or prepare for them to fail.

The Mighty Car Mods guys managed 148RWKW on their MX5 with a TD04 on a steam pipe log manifold, so you should be able to get similar results :)

That turbo would probably be fine, although that cast manifold is a top mount, so you might be tight for space with the turbo.

Im thinking the car being a dedicated track car, if turbo clashes with the engine lid, I'm would be inclined to cut a hole allowing it to stick out if needed.

Does anyone know what the smallport injectors are rated at?  Or what size the gze injectors are?

Was also thinking of running a larger intercooler in the boot with top ventilation of course.

Hope its not too big... just brought a TD05 16G turbo for my adub track car.
Just need to modify a plate to change from subaru flange to a t2 so I can match it to manifold.
