Silver SW20's

Who else has a silver MR2?
I'm interested in seeing some pics of what you've done with your cars.
I'm still not sure if i like the silver of mine, and i'm considering a respray later.
My body and paint is in really good condition at the moment, so there's no hurry.
I originally wanted a black SW20, but it seems like everyone has them lol.
What's everyone's thought on colours, and whether i should keep mine original?

Hi Rick,I was passing through Ceduna, Thursday lunch Time & saw a Silver late model SW20 beside Betta Electrical & guessed it may have been yours. In my opinion the silver looks great. I wouldn't change.
My '96 SW20 is the factory dark green, & I wouldn't change that either.

You should have dropped in to say hi.

I nearly bought a green one ( i loved the dark green ) in Melbourne, but this 97 silver one was in great condition, totally original with only 125,000 kms on it for under $10k. I couldn't go past it lol. I had looked a several in Melbourne and Sydney before buying mine. I've got a Beams half cut on the way now :)

    Hi Again Rick,
    Back in Perth Saturday.
Spent yesterday cleaning up wife's car, in which we were travelling.
Don't know if & when we will be doing the road trip again.
My thought is to not go too drastic with mods.
One of the AW11 people on the forum uses a by line something like "you can't improve on perfection".
I feel like that about the SW20.
    Best Wishes

I agree with not wanting to change much. I am getting a Beams engine for it, but want to keep any changes to the car within Toyota & TRD ideals. I might change the springs to TRD ones (if i can find them) and change the shocks and wheels/tyres, but thats about it.
I hope your trip was ok.
There don't seem to be any silver MR2 owners around... I thought the colour might have been pretty common?
(not as common as black or red though - seems to be a lot of them on the forum lol)

    Cheers

    Rick,
black Australian delivered MR2's are actually not that common. Most you see are JDM grey imports. Qld Club technical adviser (Scope) has a '96 Bathurst that's silver with black roof. This was a factory option and is really rare colour combo
    cheers

Nice. Same colour as mine, but my roof is silver too. What are the rims? What size are they? I'm still running stock rims and can't decide what I want to put on it....

Nice Looking Car - Cant see I have seen any in Perth that colour.

Is yours the Gen3 Turbo that was for sale on carsales a while ago?

Edit: OP, here is a link to quite a few silver SW20's
    http://www.carpron.com/multisite/v/toyota-lexus/Toyota_MR2/Toyota_MR2_MKII/toyota_mr2_mkii_silver/

My car started of life as a silver but now (unfortunately) is a mix of Silver and Blues and looks nothing like the factory silver.

AVS model 7 in the 17x 8 and 9 +30  and +38 respectively. Held onto them from another car so they'll do for now. I'm in the same boat undecided. Looking for some nice concave rims in the future. These are a little bit mexican at the front though...

Thanks Chase_d. Yeh I think it had been up for quite a while and coincided with my need for another car :)

I didn't realise that you could get AVS model 7's in a 17" size. I had looked at them myself, but the australian website only showed them in 18's and larger :(

The avs are now model f7s. This is an old school rim from Japan. The original model 7 whatever was before forged
