Well, Im putting time in every day to get the car sorted asap. Its ready for start up but need to charge the battery to get some oil pressure before I ignite the beast. It was turning over today but ran out of battery before the pressure came up so its back under the covers till tomorrow. Such a relief to finally see the end in sight. Still has a list of things to do before the run in but its a lot closer now. Seriously looking at having it appear at the next club meet on the 17th. Trailered of course, but will unload and have it in the carpark if its at Reading Cinema's or the likes.

Thanks Pat, Basically get it running, run in and on the track in the next few weeks. Just working every day I can get out there. Will organise the water injection this week. IC will stay for the time being. Will set the suspension myself. Need a afternoon to sort this out. Fit the door cards. Repair the front ducting. Fit undertray There is a few other things but its close which has me a little pumped up right now. Im not sure where I will drive the car, just depends on what available the day it leaves the tuner. Certainly going to go for a drive at least a few days before the MTC 2013. Are you coming up for a drive or will we meet at Sandown?

Thanks for the info on the water injection. I bought a unit the other day. Hope to see it next week. After some research, it looks like your unit uses a fair amount of water. I did call Phil Armour who sets up a lot of cars who manages 8 litres for 200km. Said something about having it communicate with the ECU to manage flow so it far more economical in comparision to other set ups out there. Sounds like you could dial your unit in to save running so much water. Cheers

Spent another 6 hrs working the car. Made an air box with high flow filter and flexi high temp line to the turbo. Relocated the intercooler to the boot. Yes, its needs to be bigger but it will have to 'do' for the time being. Water injection will help more than a bigger IC. Boot will be cut tomorrow. Relocated the coolant filler with the addition of a flexi hose. Little bit of painting. It looks a lot cleaner than it has in the past. More to come tomorrow

Nice, i uploaded a pic of the water injection on my facebook yesterday if you want to check out the setup in The Pearl Steve. As i said its as cheap and basic as it gets, but works tremendously well.

Pretty pleased right now. Been putting a lot of hours in the last few weeks/months and now its 95% ready to go. Just a few hours to sort out some bits, have it idle at home to make sure there are no oil or water leaks then off to the tuner next week, ready for EC on the 7th. Such a relief. Will certainly be ready for the MR2 trackday.

Thankyou. The water injection arrived today. Looks pretty easy to install but will need to do some homework to see if the ECU can manage the solenoid instead if the controller that was supplied. Chances are, it will without much fuss. The last of the hoses are fitted, made adjustment to the pedal box to shorten the throttle stroke and brake pedal location, just about there. It was running again today but will have to wait till Sunday before I roll it off the trailer for a lap or two around a industrial comlpex to make sure there are no leaks and all is OK before heading to the tuner. It is a bit louder than before and tight! Better get onto the website as there are some issues Im havinf trouble sorting out..

I had the car running yesterday. All OK so far. Its booked in to the tuner to have the engine broken in, then off to EC for a run on Friday 7th Dec. Not aiming for anything as for as laps times, just going to drive the car at a easy pace and just enjoy driving the car for the first time in 13 months. Will be a sweet day.

Finally dropped the car in to the tuner today. Getting it prepared was still a drama with a major plug from the ECU falling off! The ECU was removed then repaired, fitted with a 100% result in a matter of 15mins. The car was run for 30min to make sure there were no leaks with one found at the Vband. This was fixed and now it has no leaks, engine sounds OK, clutch should be a button on the dash as it has nothing between on and off..but it was expected. Tuner is Phil Armour located in Penrith. He has a lot to do with the development series, F3, Improved production and a gaggle of other classes. Mine looked like a crappy old dirt racer compared to the other cars in the workshop when it showed up due to not been washed since last year. A reliable, solid performing package is the prefered option when the tuner calls back. The car will be tuned on BP Ultimate as I had a lot of trouble sourcing ET race fuel. This will change in the future, but for the moment I just keeping it simple. So Friday is looking good at this stage.

Th tuner called yesterday afternoon with news on the tune. It has an issue of not controlling boost consistantly when he was setting the high boost tune so he only tuned to 0.8 bar. He will be sorting to boost controller on the monday then completing the tune. He stated the engine is a very well balanced, responsive unit. Turbo find full boost at 4200 but could not run higher due to inconsistant boost control. Still, with .8 bar, it has 300 rwhp without water injection and using vortex 98 for fuel. So relieved it still in one peice! Will have all.reports available next week
