I have organised camera's for the car as well as another for tours of the pits. Just picked up the knock sensor today with the dyno run organised for tomorrow. Then off to Powerplay to check the car over, oil change and a few little add on's then off to the track to see what happens. Hopefully the rain will hold off for the event. Here's hoping!

I noted a few things in the superlap thread but here are a few more details. Just digesting the weekend atm, deciding what to do next. I did chat with Suruk at WTAC about not thinking about the car for a month but thats unlikely as the first thing this morning was what to do next! Firstly I managed to get the car on a dyno at MRC Performance at Castle Hill (very well run shop for those interested)where a few issues were sorted then managed 175kw at 1.2bar. Its not much but it will have to do plus managed to be enough to have a great time while on track. Secondly with the help of a friend while at scrutineering for WTAC, we managed to get a weight on the car. There was fuel in the car which is estimated at 20kg and my weight at 85kg so we came up with 1030kg for a dry weight on the car. It could be a bit less but thats the best we could do at the moment. Still happy as it is a TT and the goal was 1100kg dry and this has been exceeded with more weigh to loose. There is still at least 35kg to remove in the rear of the car without adding many $$ but will add 6kg with additional bracing to stablise the rear of the car. So 1000kg dry is the new goal. WTAC The car was good and would have been a lot quicker with a gun driver in the seat, but that wasnt the case. The brake balance and manners of the pads is a problem which needs to be sorted. They really are tricky to find the sweet spot. There is such a fine line between the apex and the snad trap which I managed to find a few times... We had a engineer from a F3 team come down to help out with understanding the following: Importance of reading tyre pressures and temps. How to balance the temps and pressures through camber, caster and toe. Very important for anyone who enjoys track days. The biggest problem we had at EC was the camber was out from the left to right side of the car. There is more on the left hand side than the right which is the opposite to what you need at EC so the car tended to 'push' , 'understeer' then 'oversteer' which played havoc with the front tyres but when the 'oversteer' showed its card, well that was just a treat! Adjustable camber plates for the rear will be fabricated in the near future to help with improving adjustment on the fly. The corner weighting and RC(roll centre) setting will also help alot with balance for the car. Aero will also be improved with bracing and undertrays and hopefully a bigger rear wing. The car did tend to move around a little at 5500rpm in 5th which more than likey has a lot to do with the front bar not being secured well. Also had problems with temperatures. Oil is the biggest problem and may need to fit a bigger cooler and improved ducting. Its over 110 when I have a go but sitting around 6000rpm for extended periods may have that effect. It could also be the tune. Gearbox: It really needs to come out with syncro's replaced and whatever else needs to be done. CroMo shifter links may also help. Third to fourth was a problem every lap at 90% of the changes. It cost me plenty of time. A diff would be nice too... As for the axles, they were complaining by the end of the weekend so will also be lining up for some attention too. Mirrors will be replaced as will the camera screen. Almost had two accidents due to lack of visability. There are a few other issues to get right but thats enough for the moment.
Thanks for everyone dropping into say hello and offering help with their hands and knowledge. It was also great to see you all there with everyone able to names to faces. Unfortunately I cant remember all the names to faces as there was a lot happening over the last few days but there will be another time. Pic's will be added soon.

Do you mean the screen for his reversing camera? It looked about 30x10 cm, up near where the rear view mirror normally goes.

Its not the size of the screen but the pixel rate, glare/reflexion and tinting. The pixels are too big. Its(tv screen) not easy to see at best and at 150km/h into a corner or braking zone the last thing I want to is squint to adjust my aging eyes to this poor quality screen. Great for reversing, but thats really it limitations. I need clarity which I can glance at and absorb a lot of information quickly.
Thanks Julian.

You managed to score a
"41 Steven Godfrey Steven Godfrey Toyota MR2 1:49.7680 +0:13.2700 42 Sam Stratten J’s Racing/JDM Concept Honda Integra Type R 1:50.5780 +0:14.0800"
Which is pretty damn impressive if i may say so myself, having not even had the car sorted and having stupid MR2 nutters fiddling with the car all weekend.
Sorry i couldnt get those stupid mirrors to work to your liking, my hearing by the end of the weekend was pretty poor, couldnt carry your instructions through to actions.
Over all a very fun weekend, racecraft is such a wonderful thing to learn. Im kind of regretting not choosing to study automotive engineering. I honestly couldnt stop ranting to my mates and family about the weekend.
If you ever want some help give Richard a buzz, well worth taking the time to help out with something so interesting. As Steve (mr race engineer) said theres plenty left in the car and lower times to be found with more driving time.
Thanks again Steve, all hail team B24.
