I know about the angle of the rear wing and it has been changed as has the front ride height. The clutch will be fitted once a few other parts arrive but unlikely before superlap. It will be off for a dyno tune and alignment next week in prep for superlap.

Im not sure on the angle but it should be enough! There was basically none on the run at EC. Infact is was almost pointing the wrong way. It will be a lot better next time out. I sorted out a few issues last night with the AVCR which will help sort out the boost issue. Three weeks to go.. It will be interesting at Superlap..

Hey Richard, I will be sorting out tyres on Monday as well as a few other issues. On friday, I took the car up to RobK's workshop to show the car to him and run the car on the dyno next door to see what is happening with the car. The dyno run showed what I expect to be the case as far as power as well as confirming a few other issues. The biggest issue being a hole (40mm across)in the reducer pipe which is located directly after the turbine. I discovered this today in the quest for problem solving. This is what was behind the car slowly finding its way to full boost at 4500 then dropping straight back off. At least I expect it was..Will pick up the new piping on Monday. The exhaust also has problems being restricted by a damaged muffler which has now been removed with only the cannon fitted. Lost weight, decreased resistance, increased power and noise. The dyno run also confirmed the knock sensor to be faulty as the car was running very VERY rich and timing retarted. I have a replacement coming monday. So once all these issues are corrected I may see some more substancial output from the engine. The dyno read 150.3KW. The best part of this being the performance of the car with this power level. So the only way is up. So at 150kw, running in the brakes and not even understanding the car, I ran a 1.56. Wakefield it ran 69-70sec with a few quicker and slower with the wrong springs and 'standardish' brakes. The Mr2 is really a great car to work with. To work on the car is painful at times, but ir really is a satisfying car and quick to boot! EVO65 always said 'He will gain great satisfaction from seeing the facce on the 'EVO' guys faces when they see the MR2 snapping at their heels'. Seems like this may very well happen friend.

It was great to get a look at Steve's car first hand, I was very impressed! It really looks like a very proper race car, and he has done a great job with it!

Thanks Rob, much appreciated. I just sat down after spending most of the day on the car. The new engine bushes are in the car (thanks squigg!).Very easy and a perfect fit. Quite impressed with the product. I pulled out the exhaust from the turbo back, ported matched it the best I could, cut out the damaged muffler, transfered the housing of the muffler onto the canon, then set it straight out the back exiting at the centre of the car. I saved another few kg's, probably 5 or so. That was it really. Hopefully the knock sensor will be here tomorrow plus the intercooler pipe then back to the dyno. It will be interesting to see what it does when its all sorted out. If I see 200 I will be very happy. Pic's

There will be another day! I do need a mr2 mechanic for the event. I can offer a ticket to the venue and somewhere to stay for someone who knows the MR2 intimately..
