Well Im making progress on the brake upgrade. The rotor hats arrived this week as did the adaptors to run the new calipers.
Today was spent designing the caliper brackets and making adjustments to the hubs so this system will fit within the guards.
It really is a total pain going down this path but the end rusult will be worth it.
The floor pedal box has been fitted but needs some fine tuning as there isn't much room down there.
Here are some comparison pic's of the upgrade. There really is a big difference but amazingly the new system is actually lighter than the original brakes. An exact difference will be available soon

The great part is after 300km at Wakefield Park it will be the same as the first lap! If I happen to race in it, that is.. Either the 300 or a team to run in the Eastern Creek 6hr the week before.
Im off to the engineer this morning( around the corner from my landscape supplier)to drop in the adapters for the calipers.
Im test fitting 18's today to see if they will work. You can pick up 18" tyres far easier than 17's and they may just work with some mods. The weights are very close so Im looking into it. Will more than likely have to run flares then chop up the inside of the gaurds to make it work.
Cant wait to get the brakes sorted the send it to Powerplay for final prep work.
Hopefully next week..

Also fitted the new GFB BOV yesterday. A tig welder fitted the BOV mounting pipe to the IC pipe. An old Korean guy at Alexandria. Nice work and may use him for future mods.

Hi - how is the car? everything looks like it is progressing well. How are the times at EC? Seems like Daniels beast has set the benchmark at the creek - one of his mates did a 1.39!!!!!

Hence my car is no longer on the market (I had no idea there was so much potential in theses things) so at some stage when i return I'll add another MR2 to the race team :)

Hello Rory,
Car is out of action the last month due to brake upgrade. I expect to pick up the caliper brackets tomorrow with the install done by monday. Then its off to the workshop for a few tweeks before hitting the track. As far as EC goes, I have not run the car there as yet so its up in the air for lap times.Im not even going to guess or speculate just get out there and see what happens.

Great to see you are keeping the MR2. They do have potential to be a very quick car but its keeping it manners in check at speed which is the challenge. Evo has it sorted so now I have to catch up!

I have been working on a RX7 this week which has been a treat. What a fantastic car they are.

The brakes are 90% ready with a a few small jobs before bleeding the system then moving to Powerplay for inspection before the next track day.
I have to say 'I would not recommend doing what I have done unless you have the equipment, passion and or know how'. If there is a kit for sale or a adaptor kit with everything available, buy it. Dont do what I have done. Many hours, many many hours of slowly working this out, fabricating, testing, adjustments, mistakes, fine tuning, mistakes, running around, but Im almost there and it will be pretty good once it all up and running.
Also have the Enkei's and new D1 alloy nuts on the car which look pretty cool.
Pic's
