Ah yes nothing like a good stir!

As far as the bells go, I will be seeing a engineer today to do the machine work. I made contact with him through evo65m.
I trial fitted the brakes last night only to find they are incredibly wide. After some head scratching, I came up with a solution which includes incorporating a spacer into the bells then resetting the hub mounting points on the struts.
The struts will be sorted by monday and the machine work by next week.
The caliper brackets will be designed once the discs are fitted. It looks like the brakes will bolt up to my existing braided lines. All should be sorted in the next week or two.
The pedal box should just fit. If not, I will simply drill a few holes in the firewall to allow the correct clearance.

Just an update and a new picture.
I have been toying with Picasa 3 which has a collage option so I put one together with and 'start to now' pic.

I seeing the engineer today to finalise the bells along with some new links for the steering rods. As Im using 35mm rotors its a right pain to sort out the offsets. There will need to be flares or more flaring of the gaurds. Once the brakes are fitted I will make a decision on which way to go. All the pedal assembly is ready to go and will be sent off this week for fitting at powerplay imports at drummoyne. Stopping will not be an issue unless I f#$@ something up!

Also picked up some tubing to tighten up the rear of the car as well as the front of the car. This will be done when the brakes are fitted. Also looking at making some strut braces if anyone is interested.. The sway bar links will be strenghtened too

New 450lb front springs are now in. Eibach's. Thanks Surok for your help!
New Tomie fuel reg and new fuel filter fitted which certainly made a difference. There was that much grit in there Icould have made mud pie's!
Hopefully refitting the O2 sensor will solve the problems with the engine. I dont know how much power it has but its not over 15okwatw. We changed a few things when we rewired the car which has effected the tune.

I was one of four cars to the last ever session at oran park which was a great experience. I paid Ian Luff for the video and pic's of the day so I will have these online in the near future. This includes footage from a helicopter while driving the track. Should be pretty cool.
The car felt a lot better this time out compared to the last session at Wakefield. Still work to be done but heading the right direction. I really need earplugs..
So bloody loud. The incar camera which was a ipod sticky taped to the dash could not deal with the noise! IT will be on photobucket today. There are no fast laps as I was learning the track when the footage was taken.

I havent received it yet whihc means it must be a fantastic piece of work! Did you meet up with the crowd at the pub after the event?

The change in the tune after changing the reg and filter was almost embarrasing to have over looked it before hand. But as you know the engine is last on the list with this build. Hopefully we will have it sorted soon. Alister said to say hello.

I will check the footage tonight. I cant load mine up as I dont have the software to reduce the file so its just too big for what it is. Will see what I can do in a few weeks.

I spent time with the engineer today finalising the rotor hats. Will be ready by Tuesday next week.

I have been waiting for parts to arrive to get the brake upgrade underway. Hats' this week and hopefully the brake lines too. The original pedal system has now been removed with a trial fit of the triple pedal system completed today. IT will be a tight fit but will work OK. The master cylinders are now just behind the sway bar which will be enclosed in a box yet to be fabricated. A base will also be made tomorrow to mount the floor box. The brake bias cable clears everything nicely so no need for the 90 degree adapter. The throttle linkage is a headache but will have it in order soon.

I fitted the O2 sensor with help from robk with wiring and understanding the system. Thanks Rob.
Also the fuel gauge is now working! Yahoo!

I checked my chassis plate today and found it is a 1998 SW20, Gen 5. Can anyone shed some light on the Gen 5?
