Wtb: gen 2 3sge motor

Hi guys
So upon inspecting my car today testing some sensors etc
I noticed I have oil pissing out in a lot more places than I first thought
So instead if spend 2.5k building a very good head with cams etc

I think I should cut my losses and purchase a lower km engine and rebuild it with forged internals
And cams etc

I will be doing this myself with the help if a few tradesman mechanics

I want to keep the cost of an engine low
I don't want a **** box tho

Let me know what you guys have

Even if you have an immaculate engine I would consider.
P.s I don't want to turbo it
I'm happy with my na as it is also I'm a year and a bit away from open licence
Thanks guys
Ethan

    Wish I could
    However
The money I can't afford to go beams :/
And I don't think my engine will last untill I can afford to
I need to get this sorted within a few months

    Honda K20 swap! :)

Why will your current motor only last a few months? The compression numbers looked even.

    Just fix the oil leaks?

One of those oil leaks involves head coming off to fix the head gasket leaking oil
Cam and cranks seals are pissing oil by the looks
I have had enough of this engine
It woul cost me more time and money and without a car rather than
Keep topping it up with oil by a decent engine, rebuild and throw a vrs kit at it over a month or so than drop it in over a weekend
    Get a blue slip etc
And I'll have a basically near new engine
    For near the same cost

At this rate to fix the oil leaks
Head off and recondition 1000-2200 if I put cams in etc
    Cam and crank seals- 600$
    Sump seal- 350$
    Oil pumps leaking
    Rocker cover again
Has a fair amount of blow by

    Another engine
    500-1000$
Head rebuild with cams and full vrs 1500$
    Rings and bearings 650$
    I'll do all the labour
    With mechanic
New acc belts and water pump 200$
    Job done.

Just rather do it once and do it properly.

Rather than fix an already average engine.
Just really had enough of this engine tbh.

If the engine is really bad as you said, just replace it with identical one. Most economical lol for ~1 year til full licence.
But if you insist I would rather Beams>rebuild/internal upgrade because you will spend about the same DIY-ing.

I have a feeling once you crack open your engine there may be unforeseen contingencies...

Yeah that's what I'm thinking tree

But I will not be buying another go fast car/fun car

Not real interested in a turbo

My current situation is this: girlfriend

    That is all..

So at this point a exact same engine
Make sure all is working good, throw a vrs kit at it
Build the head like I had wanted to
Depending how many kms and if money is an option
New rings and bearings. That's the main plan
I just want to do this once and if it's going to cost a little extra to make sure it's done right thank so be it

I'd hate to have to pull it out again because I skimped on something.
