Help with fault code

Hi Everyone,
 
I am having some issues with a 1994 ADM Bathurst sw20, 3SGE.  This thing is as stock as the day it left the factory and has extremely low kms.
 
  The ECU light started to show randomly.  You could drive the car for 30mins without issue until the CEL light came on.  Then the next time it would come on in only a few mins.  I've pulled code 14. IGN signal- no IGF signal to the ecu 8-11 times in succession. 
 
-Igniter  and IGN coil circuit
-Igniter and IGN coil
-ECU
 
This 'showing' of the CEL coincides with terrible engine performance which seems like IGN breakdown, which I know makes sense but I'm including as much info as I can think of.
 
The Igniter and Coil have both been replaced.  I have disconnect all associated plugs in the relevant areas inc the ECU and all appears as it should.
 
Anyone have any similar experiences or have anything in mind that I could be overlooking.

    My first thought would be try another known working ecu. You should be able get your hands on one from someone on this forum to borrow for a week or two.

    Checked leads for any damage cuasing intermittent break up of ign?

    Earths?

    I hate them too, also a pain the car is at my folks place 130kms away.
     
    I should replace the leads, they're the originals but aren't visibly damaged none the less.
     
    So the short list so far,
     
    Borrow 'good' ecu
    Get leads as they need doing regardless of if they're contributing or not
    Go over earths, urgh gotta remove all that intake gear

    My 20V acted like this just prior to it being transplanted into my AW11, it was caused by the capacitors leaking and failing in the ECU. Might be worth popping the case off to see if your having similar capacitor issues.

    When I had this issue it was the ignitor module and coil. I know you said you replaced them but I would be inclined to think one of them has gone again. Did you put a new igniter or second hand one? the other thing to check is that there is no breaks within the distributor wiring. Its very rare for the ECU to go on these from what I've been told by ECU experts but in rare cases it does happen. Cost me $150 or so for my ECU to be bench tested by logicar only to find out it was fine and the ignitor I changed was the issue again.

    I used second hand parts.  I would imagine you'd have to be unlucky for them to both be an issue but will see about either a new one or trying another unit from somewhere.  I also agree the chances of ecu failure are unlikely. 
     
    Think I'll install new leads as they need doing anyway and go from there.  I was doubtful they would cause this sort of code, but has been mentioned a few times before.

    The leads definitely don't register a fault code. You can unplug the leads and it wont register a fault. It's either igniter, coil, break in distributer wiring or ignition wiring or an ECU fault.

    Oh right I misread that.  Wiring looks good I've been over it already, except the earth.
