Front suspention with Veilside front bar

I just recently purchased a black Bathurst model MR2 with a veilside front bar. The front is ridiculously low and it scrapes very easily. It even scraped on the drive back from Sydney yesterday when I was going down a valley in the road at speed and hit a small pothole. I've already screwed up some of the paintwork at the sides where it connects to the front quarter panels. I'm thinking about getting it lifted, I'd like more of a usable height, but I have no idea what suspension would be best. Does anybody have experience with this sort of problem?

Also if anyone knows someone in Brisbane who can do decent bodykit repairs please let me know.
