Hi from Ireland :)

Just joined and saying hi.

I'm in Ireland and have had MR2's for the last 14 years.  For the last 4 years, i've had a SW20 Spider.
It's had a gen3 turbo swap, PFC, 800cc SARD's and St205 CC.
I swapped out the blue cloth seats and fitted half leather, half alcantara, Border front and bonnet and side skirts and 17" multi-spoke rims.
I've signed up to MR2 Australia because it seems you guys have a lot more experience when it comes to gen4 onwards, Cladina swaps etc

I've gotten a caldina side-feed intake and want to fit it to me gen3.  I'm also going to remove the St205CC and replace with a W2A core which will sit over the air intake.

So, i've a load of questions about fitting the Caldina side-feed intake but will post them in the relevant section.

Will post up some pics later today / tomorrow

Rob

    Welcome fellow Rob.
Have a look for dasic1's build thread in the showroom section, I think his build might be similar to what you have in mind.

Thanks for the welcome and the info.
Found the thread and started to read it but for some reason my boss wants me to work instead of doing mr2 research :(

Teach me for not reading properly.  When I heard Spider, I envisaged a ZZW . . .

I'm doing the same with a caldina intake, the manifolds have a cut out on the throttle body flange for the csv? valve on the bottom of the throttle. The MR2 one is in the centre and caldina is off centre. So I welded the slot up and filed a new one in the centre and resurfaces it to match the mr2 gen3 throttle.
People have said it still works without doing this mod, but I preferred to do it so the gasket had better sealing area.
Other than that everything should bolt up fine for you.

Nice Spider. A pity it is no longer stock though as they are very rare.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

In 2015, I hope to get a built 2.2 stroker.  So, have a bit of power to back up the pretty looks : )

@dwyer125 - will start a thread about the caldina intake. I'm a hobbyist - so, will probably have tons of questions !!

Most Ive done is 12v wiring, swapped out turbo, fit chargecooler, change plugs, leads, oil, brakes, basic mechanical stuff. I can follow instructions pretty well but am not a mechanic !
