Ecliptech Shift lights - Group Buy?
Greetings All Following a conversation with my regular Targa driver, and an email conversation with the supplier, here be the latest Group Buy opportunity. Take a quick look at http://www.ecliptech.com.au/ , specifically the Shift-I shift lights. I've fitted these to two rally cars recently, and can vouch for the ease of installation and their usefulness. So, how much would you be willing to pay for one of these in your track day car? How does $150 posted to your doorstep sound? I need to get at least 6 to achieve this level of discount. If you're interested PM me with your details (including a contact number or email address).

These are great. I've had them in my car for around 5-6 years. Still working like new.

I'm interested, just had a couple of questions first. After having a look at the website these should be compatible with early SW20's that have the mechanical vs digital dash right? I haven't really got any knowledge when it comes to wiring so correct me if I'm wrong. Crusier did you install yours yourself? If so how difficult was it? Finally The tacho in my mechanical dash isn't working atm, would one of these still work before I put a new assembly in? I do have one sitting around waiting to go in but it's not something I can do myself so its been gathering dust!

Installation is very very easy - you need a ground (Bat-) 12V (Bat+) and a rev (tacho) signal. Steve, it would depend on what the problem is with your current dash. If it's the actual analogue meter that's died then yes, the Shift lights will operate. If it's the signal from the ECU that's gone AWOL then no, you'll need to fix this problem before the lights will work.

Yeh its the meter itself thats the problem, when it first died I had it looked at and was told putting a new cluster in would fix it, I got a used 1992 cluster from another member on the forum just haven't installed it yet. Consider me in if we can get them for $150. PM'd e-mail address.

I installed mine myself. It was relatively simple just picked up the tacho signal from the back of the cluster. Mounted it to the steering column cover with double sided tape :)

Saw one of these installed on a customers car today. He said he was very impressed with it. Please put me down for one. Don't know which shape is best suited for a AW11. Curved or straight. Any comments?

I'd be leaning towards the straight style, mounted on top of the instrument binnacle so that the lights are easily seen just above the steering wheel rim. I have a feeling that the curved style would be more for a bike application.

URGENT RESPONSE REQUIRED !! OK, before you all panic, it's just to let you know that we have 6 paid up subscribers to this. I'll be sending the order through on Monday, which gives you a chance to answer one very important question : Green/Red or Blue/Red led's? Also, a final chance on this order for others to jump in. I already have one (Dom) who has asked for Blue - if I don't hear by Monday morning, I'll presume Green for the others. Cheers guys!
