MANDALAY: I'll be going to IDB on Saturday and I'll be sure to get those nuts coated or replaced with ones already coated. As for the bolt on the left-hand side of the intake manifold, I was looking for the other black one but I think it has been misplaced or when i bought the engine it was already missing. Would you happen to have one I can buy off you by any chance?

Ill check it out for you on the weekend :) Oh BTW the cam cover will get very close to the shock tower. You might consider taking a bit of metal off before respraying the engine bay So this is the carbon fibre piece of the mould in the previous page. So it will go on the strut housing in front of the cam cover. Now i have more clearance. Gee Toyota should have modified that section from the factory, its too close because of the VVTi This is the carbon fibre part in its location. I rubbed it back so as to have a flat finish,

UPDATE:I decided to take the day off today and got the car towed to IDB. It turned out to be a very productive day with the below done: - I attached the tail light and power antenna plugs to the BEAMS body loom. - Original (Generation II) 3S-GE removed - Done by one of Ian's workers. - Trav and I unbolted the gearbox, clutch and flywheel from the engine. - Pushed the car to Anson Auto where the front compartment and engine bay will be painted. Pictures below:

When the engine is out compare it to the BEAMS :) See how the BEAMS is such a raw pure engine with none of the crap tvis etc and only 2 vacuum hoses. This is the engine we should have got in Australia , unfortunately the price was high and only 7 got sold for the whole of Australia on the final year. The MR2 had come and now its gone for ever. There will never be another JAP mid engined car. Lets restore and keep the MR2 going !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MANDALAY: Yeah it's a pity they never fitted the BEAMS 3S-GE here in Australia. It would have made my life a hell of a lot easier! Considering the Bathurst sold for roughly $51k and the GT for $61K in 1997-1999 it doesn't surprise me that only 7 were sold. People would have been buying WRX's and the S14 200SX. That's what I'm planning to do with both my GT-S and G-Limited man. I really can't see myself selling these cars! Senol: As long a they build cars that are fun to drive I'd welcome it .

stuka: Haha thanks man, but I'm still very much a novice and work slowly. I'm sure if Huey or Ian even thought about taking me on as an apprentice it would take me 10 times longer to do things than someone who knows what they are doing . It's probably best for everyone if I stick to my day job. MANDALAY: Will do man. We supported the drive shafts when moving the car to the panel beaters but it looks like the cable ties we used may have fallen off.
