You should have intake manifold polished while you're at it. I had them do a rough job on my old one & even then it made the engine bay looks much better. Do yourself a favour & don't blow a headgasket straight afterwards like me [B)]

Daz: Yeah the blue came out really nice, glad I listened to my dad haha. Engine should be going there soon, if not this week then next week.

Spaniel: Thanks, I hope it looks as good in the car as it does out of it, thanks for your feedback on the turbo sdub you just bought as well [:x)]

Jay: Yeah i agree It would look out of place if I just left it how it is. The plan is for the intake to come off and be painted a bare aluminum colour, along with the throttle body, coolant necks and misc brackets. The dump pipe and heat shields are going to get HPC coated.

good stuff man will be good to see it on the road with that nice turbo spool noise
you will need to shorten that intake pipe on both side for it to fit and clear properly
i did the same thing but since mine still has the afm you might only need to shorten one side

cheers

Kameleon: Thanks Trav, I think it looks even nicer in person.

MADMR2: Yeah I gave the poo crackle brown a miss, it was a close second though haha

MR2QIK: Yep thats exactly what I'm after Jay The plan is to have a really clean looking gen3 with basic mods (intake, exhaust, boost, intercooler). Hopefully it looks nice in the enginebay!

DOuFINKimSEXY:
Thanks Dave, not sure about poo crackle brown on the spyder, worth a try though [:x)]

purple5ive: Yeah looking forward to the conversion. Like I said the intake isn't finished yet, not sure about the length as I might make a cold air intake box for it as well. Definitely the last thing to be done. Its a good thing I sell aluminum machinery for a living, will makes things a lot easier.

Update

The engine has finally made its last journey (thanks Simon) to Ian at IDB for new seals, gaskets, fuel injectors cleaning, exhaust and heatshield ceramic coating etc. Also installed my boost gauge in preparation for turbo goodness. Will go down later in the week to check out the progress, pics to come!

Darren: Yeah it should be almost fully assembled by then, not sure if the shops will be open due to the grand prix.

Anyway, Went down to the engine builders today to drop some stuff off and have look. The engine parts have been painted and the colour is just what I was after, very happy.

Fuel injectors are back after having them cleaned, water pump ordered, heat shields and dump pipe arrived back from hpc coating and are also looking great. Took a few pics:

Looking good Adrian! Will you be around on Saturday?

No pictures of the heat shields? I'm assuming my BEAMS heat shields were done too?

By the way you're such a ricer with my brother's old boost gauge installed in your car [:p]

Darren: ahahaha but it looks so cool at night [88], hopefully it will be functional soon enough! The heat shields are still in the bubble wrap which you can see in the pictures, I didn't unwrap them. Im sure yours are there as well.

Trav Thanks! I'm loving how great everything is starting to look.
