In addition, you'll need -
- Bigger injectors
- An aftermarket ECU
- Potentially a custom fuel rail (if you had a 3SGTE and making a fair bit of power). A 3SGE should be OK
You don't need to make any changes to the engine.
E85 is cheaper than ULP though you will use more so in the end it will probably be more expensive. You are also limited by where you can get it and different servos have different E85 suppliers and the % Ethanol can vary greatly. I've been told that United has the best quality E85.
You will definitely make more power though it's probably more noticable on a turbo car because the E85 burns cooler, so you can run higher boost that what you normally would, thereby increasing the power again. You obviously won't be able to do this on a NA car.
Unless you have a racing car, I wouldn't bother with E85 as you will spend a fair bit of money for only a small result.

Whoa this car is coming together very nicely...
What else did you need to change in order to accept E85, besides fuel pump, fuel lines and tuning? Do you have to increase compression to maximise the combustion? I have 2 Caltex E-flex stations not too far from my area, just thought it would be interesting if I made the naturally aspirated 3SGE to suit the fuel (and how much more power I could make) hehe
