To "whet one's whistle", so-to-speak, I took a few shots of the treasure trove in the boot, just before I made the final drive the car would make as a 3S-GTE to WTF's magic factory.  The 3S-GTE still pulls really well, is in great shape with no oil leaks, starts first time, everytime - a truly remarkable motor for a 1990 car (Gen II).  146,584km on the clock, she has done her job, carrying me through to this point, which was always going to be the goal.

So - toys to install in the pics as follows:

The booty.  Everyone likes a big booty..

Inside the booty...

TRD steering wheel, TRD suspension bushes (front and rear), TRD gauges and a bit of the gauge pod;

Genuine Toyota brushed aluminium pedals, and custom machined TRD grille for foot rest, remaining gauges and TRD oil filler cap;

Late model steering column assembly and adaptor bracket for use with TRD wheel, Raybrigs front fog lights, TRD metal badge to be re-applied to TRD rear strut brace, which has been powder coated charcoal black;

TRD sway bars (front and rear), inc. all bolts and links, and replacement climate control unit;

And, the outgoing 3S-GTE

Looking forward to posting up progress pics once application for conversion is approved :)

That is a niiiiiiiice booty!!! :)
With the border gauge pod are you going to wrap it in leather to suit your dash or just bolt it on top?
Also, what are you going to do with the 3sgte?

Current plans for the 3S-GTE are it has a potential buyer (not yet confirmed), but until it is confirmed it could be available for sale at the right price.  Gotta be quick though - as once it's confirmed that'll be that.  It's located in WA, so factor that into any potential offer...

No pics of Raybrigs just yet, but they will be installed into the front bar standard openings on fixed brackets, wit a neat mounting for the switches in the dash.  They will also be sprayed with "Night Line" or something - basically a smoked charcoal tint to go over the top of the existing blue to match the rest of the car's scheme...

The current thinking is to mount it on top as-is, with two black retaining strips at each side.  Apparently, covering it in the leather is "too difficult" because of the changes in shape and profile, and could "lift", which would end up looking sh*te.  I'll be happy enough once it's scrubbed up and neat, and lit up with TRD gauges :)

SW20_3sgte -
For some reason I want to see that car at every angle possible :)

There are some more pics here - http://www.mr2australia.com/MR2play/tm.aspx?&m=20720&mpage=1 - though I’d start from about page 10 to skip past all of my previous incompetence, and trials at kit fitting!

I’ve also got an engine build thread here - http://www.mr2australia.com/MR2play/tm.aspx?m=54420 so I’ll be updating this over the next 6 weeks, and try to keep the Showroom thread for the finished bits
