Well it might be, my shopping list is:
N/A Gearbox
1990 3SGE (full) Gasket kit
Waterpump
oilpump
timing belt
also, on a >200,000km engine i was going to do the rings but do you recon its worth doing the pistons, rings and conrods?
cheers

at 200K, there may be considerable piston to bore clearance. typically #3 cylinder is out-of-round. if you just want a patch up, a re-ring might work, but dont expect it to last another 200k
i am reluctant to sell as-is gearboxes as OK today, crappy tomorrow. you can never please people.
I will do you a job lot deal on a box thats been stripped & fitted with new 2nd & 3rd syncros & all new seals , plus new engine gasket kit, water pump, timing belt, oil pump gear kit, all for $1700

im looking for a s54 gearbox too.. If I can get a cusco type RS (i found a company that can supply them) would you be able to fit it? I honestly couldnt be bothered pulling my current gearbox apart seing that they arent worth much anyway. I also need another mechanical speedo the one that plugs into the box.

no trouble to fit a LSD, but it requires a complete strip down and 2 new diff side bearings (as a minimum)

How much would it be for fitting differential? I can just exchange my gearbox too (to reduce the cost) if you have one there thats lying around in good condition. as for the sidegears i think they are about $50 each new from toyota.
