Turbo upgrade advice?

Hi everyone,
so I have a Gen 3 SW20 and have been offered a GTX 2863R at a good price.
What do I need to do to get it it working?
Car is pretty much stock right now.

Thanks in advance... :)

I would rather go a gt30 frame garret or stay with a ct20b personally.

You will need everything from manifold adapter, coolant and oil lines/fittings, pipes adapted to suit etc.

    Basically everything.

also dont forget to make the most out of it, you need a bigger exhaust and cooler too..
if you havent already done that then its probably a good idea to do that for extra horsies before going to a bigger turbo

    cheers

Sounds like too much effort. I'll stick with the CT20b.
There's nothing wrong with it, but upgrades can make stuff more fun.
Not at the expense of my sanity though.
    Thanks guys! :)

It's not a bad turbo. Would rather a GTX3071 instead though.

Will need as a minimum, manifold adaptor, oil/water line, IC pipe (BOV adaptor too) & dump pipe.

To complement/maximise, IC (trunk mount or W2A), rest of the exhaust, ECU, fuel systems (injectors/pump) & boost control.

Just a side question. Are there any turbo's that bolt straight up to the CT20b manifold?
Other then the CT series obviously.

Not available new. Back in the hey day there kinda was. Nothing ball bearing afaik.

Youll need an ecu ithink if you fitted a gtx28. Too different to a ct20b on a gen3.

Gt28s are much better than a ct20b imho. It all depends on how mch power/torque you want and where in the rpm band.

Back in the day there was a CT26/35R. A mate of mine had one in Canada. If you ever come across any of these, don't even bother. Worst of both worlds......lol

With MR2 turbo upgrades......go hard or don't bother at all.

Dr.J, if you want to do some modding, I'd like to see how your Gen3 does with a flex E85 setup & 20psi. I think it'll get approx 230rwkw if cooled right. Good enough for easy low 12's & potential squeeze an 11 (I did with that kinda power). Unbeatable response too.

Btw, do you have a thread for your car?

The other bolt on turbos back in the day were the PE1919T by power enterprise, and the Blitz K1-380v, both discontinued now.

I'm guessing that came off an MR2. No idea what turbo that is, but at a guess, if you paid $2000 for including the W2A gear, you should be a good position.

Agree with Mr2QIK, that kit will save a lot of heartache and dollars spent. Looks like you will need some decent coolant and oil lines. If you fit braided line direct to the turbo( or anything other than steel tube) you are asking for trouble.
Good luck, hope it all works out for you

Thanks for suggestions guys. I'm going to leave the CT20b where it is for now.
I've got a Power FC (thanks for the referral chase_d), and a Profec B boost controller, to go in so I'll see where those get me.
Next is some cosmetic stuff, BC V1 coilovers and some better spark plug leads. I was looking at some 8.5mm Magnecor leads and will probably get them unless someone can recommend something better/more suitable?

MR2QIK; no thread. Car is basically stock save for an exhaust, some slotted brake discs and better pads, so a thread would be a boring read. :)
