Circuit club Trackday at Wakefield Park 8/6/2013

Circuit Club are having their Queens Birthday long weekend trackday this Monday. The event is totally booked out with some serious card from around the state turning laps for the day. Expect to see a few Time Attack cars there and there will be three SW20's. Ian will be enjoying one his last days in the NA before moving on to turbo power, Adrian will be there chasing a 1.12 in a SW20 NA and a Black SW20 owned by a Japanese guy will be back after a long absence from the track. Expect to see a few FT86's out there trying to beat the times of 20 year old MR2's!
I will be there helping the guys out and may turn a few laps. If people are free, come and say hello.

Cheers

Steve

Had a great day with the Circuit Club crew. Was great to catch up with a few of the MR2 owners enjoying what their cars are good at doing. The track was wet but dried up by 75% by late afternoon.
Adrian was in Group D and did very well by showing every FT86 how to get around the the track as quick as possible. His quickest time was a 1.14.5(1.5sec of his PB) finishing 17th outright from 44 cars. Ian has car troubles so was unable to set any times. Another well presented Black SW20 Turbo with a border body kit also turned a few laps for the first time in a few years. Looks like he will be joining us for the MTC 2014.
Also great to catch up with Highlander who is getting closer to having his car back on track soon.
Here is some footage of Adrian on the last sessions of the day when the track had dried out.

I'm pretty sure you know the Queen's birthday weekend. When are you coming to the track?

I don't know the Queens birthday weekend, she never invites me so how should I remember?

A long weekend to me means three or four long overtime shifts, that about it.

I'll be able to make it to the track when the stars align with the suns of Tatooine, which happened for mr2 challenge 2013. Was pretty interested in the 6 hour event but family came first for that weekend.
