Australian Newspaper Article On MR2
A good article in the Australian today (Thursday 30 May 2013) about the MR2, with a focus on the Spyder. Unlike some other recent pieces in other publications (Unique Cars claiming the Fiat X19 is far better than the MR2) this author has written a good piece, particularly as he rates the AW11 ahead of the SW20 (LOL). I loved the following statement: "But being Japanese, the MR2 made the (Fiat) concept a whole lot friendlier by righting the XI9's wrongs, with less fragility, more power and reliability a Fiat owner dare not imagine". The article is available on-line on the Australian newspaper page and can be printed out. Thanks to Groper for pointing the article out. Tralfaz

Thanks for the heads up Tralfaz. Good to read motoring writers still remember the MR2. Had a laugh at the comment "Unlike the conceptually similar but flawed MGF" !!!!!

Should we organise to get a copy of this one to our "friend" at U-snique Cars?

I'd like to backhand the next auto writer that says, "a wet corner can provoke snap oversteer" Why can't they just be logical and say something like, "It's a mid engined car, you have to appreciate it's weight dynamics. Know when to brake, know when to accelerate, know how to corner" It's like someone taking a motorcycle for a ride and complaining about 'snap gravity' when they lean over too far!!

'Snap gravity', I love that expression - just imagine someone writing about an inbuilt design flaw in motorcycles ha ha.

Did you know that 98 per cent of all Fiat X19's ever made are still on the road? The remaining 3 per cent actually made it back home. LOL

And that unaccounted for 1%? Well, thats the whole problem with Italian 'engineering' isn't it? I owned an Aprillia motorbike, very nice, stylish, powerful, comfortable.. But cat like, when it got wet it used to chuck a tantrum and refuse to move. Never ever again. German or Japanese for me thank you.
