1995 Mr2 Gt Turbo - NSW

Hi guys,

I'm looking at getting my first MR2.

This came online today on gumtree...
gumtree.com.au/s-ad/campsie/cars-vans-utes/toyota-mr2-gt-spec-1995/1019557648
It looks too good to be true as the Km's are only at 61,xxx....

Thoughts?

P.S. it's not mine

    Thoughts?

I thoughts it must be one of the very rare MR2's with the factory fitted TRD speedos.

Not a bad price but my guess would be speedo replaced with a lower TRD replacement.

Mines quite the same with a rebuild and a few mods for a price reference. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/toyota-mr2-1995-13561871

The motor looks to be an early gen 2 likely 89-91 (possibly also from a Celica going off the plate on the plenum), if the car itself is a 95 model you might run into some issues with legality as the engine is older than the shell - well at least that's what the rules used to be in NSW, might have changed now though.

It doesn't look like a genuine SW20 TYPE III. I think it's an Australian Delivered SW20 with a 3S-GTE transplant. Although the front guards dont have turn signals (replaced with JDM ones after an accident?) the engine is a give away and the plastic around the spare tyre and the spare wheel is Australian Delivered. Stock volt gauge had been replaced for a aftermarket gauge as well. If you check this car out, check to see the following:
    1. Electrical folding mirrors (JDM GT and G-limited grades have this)
    2. Seats are leather and suede (JDM GT have this. Australian delivered are full leather)
    3. Black plastic swing thing on the door jams (JDM cars had these for the seatbelts)
