Extreme boost creep 3SGTE

Hey Guys, I installed a gfb g-force2 EBC in my Mr2 GT sometime in January. Installing it meant I had to plug the factory tvsv system which I did and the the controller works great. On my daily drive to work I run about 6psi max and most of the time the boost is negative (which I have heard is good...I hope). It has been working fine for the last 5 months.

A few days something went wrong I am suspecting the waste gate actuator. When the car is stationary the EBC reads 9psi and when I drive even at half throttle at low rpm EBC read 13+ psi. I've set the over boost feature on the EBC to cut off boost if it goes past that which protects me from hitting the fuel cut. I read that you will almost certainly get boost creep if you have a full turbo back exhaust, I have a 3" straight through one.

Any advice from 3sgte veterans out there?

I ran 13psi for a while and read that stock wastegate actuators can handle only about 7-8psi...

Have you got another boost gauge or just the ebc readout.
It seems your ebc pressure is reading incorrectly. If you are stationary and @ idle your turbo will not make boost and it should be reading vacuum.
I'm running 20psi with my std gen3 with no issues yet.
I ran 23psi with my gen2 with no issues other than the turbo running out of puff and dropping back to around 12psi @ 6,000rpm

Your boost controller definately has something stuffed in it. No way you will be making 9psi at idle. Nothing wrong with your waste gate actuator, you boost controller is just reading wrong. You don't have boost creep its just impossible to be making 9psi at idle unless you got some kind of crazy new technology in your car, in that case I want in because 9psi at 1000rpm would be awesome!!!!

Hi Cruiser97_80 I don't have another gauge just the EBC readout, the EBC just doesn't read vacuum any more which is really strange. It used to read about -22 when stationary. When I turn the car off (no power at all) the EBC reads 8psi lol. I can hear the solenoid which opens and closes to regulate the boost working which it never used to do once the car was turned off. I have sent an email to Go Fast Bits asking if they can replace the unit.

Hey Track_mr2, thanks for the advice too, It deffinitly does sound like the EBC is stuffing up now that you guys have mentioned all this stuff.

You're more than welcome to come checkout the car to see if there is some hidden tech in the engine bay which I am yet to discover hahaha, Yea 9psi at 1000rpm would own, "I hear you have a supercharger with no lag...thats cute"

GFB guys finally got back to me ans said that the EBC had to be recalibrateed, after doing that it worked fine again.
