Presidents Report - Moody Valley Madness
Despite rain being predicted (again) we had a great Run yesterday, with brilliant sunshine all day, great people and great cars. In a first for the Club we welcomed Joel from the Supra Club who came along as an observer. After seeing all three models of the MR2 together Joel is not sure which one he would now like to own, this being despite the Adub followers arguing that their 80's retro look was back in, the Sdub followers pointing out their flowing lines and larger fuel tanks, and our Spyder bretheren just sitting back and letting the car do the talking. What was interesting having a Supra along was the petrol tanker that followed us everywhere at a respectful distance. Must be something to do with the economy on those straight sixes when they try to keep up. Our Technical Director, Scope, also again proved the worth of belonging to a Club that has Runs with their own built in engineering support. We had minimum delay when one of the Sdub's developed a leaking clutch, but after a short stop to replenish the fluid and some close oversight the car was able to complete the run and make it home. The proposal to have the Slidewize competition in September was strongly supported during discussions at the lunch location, so subject to the arrangements being confirmed with the Slidewize team the Queensland Club will have a day of going up against another group of cars later in the year. This will make good practice for the Nationals and Motors in Motion. The next Run is April the 21st so make sure that date is circled, and lets hear about ideas for the Night Run in May. Walter

Sounds like it was a good run, Pretty keen for the night time run :P
I was talking with Elliot today about having a themed run, and we though having a run were we are all wearing suits would be a good theme, nice and classy, like our cars (well most of them)
As for the night run...we need neons :D

Neons? OK. LEDS? OK. Suits? Wash your mouth out with soap. The only time I wear a suit now is to funerals. However, on second thought, what about a Blues Brothers theme? LOL Don't worry about the lights. Last time we had glow sticks everywhere, as external neons are actually a sick bird - ill-eagle. What we want is the right type of attention for the cars. But don't worry, we'll have fun just like we did last year.

While we all eagerly await "Dennis The Menace's" Photographic endeavours, here are a few of my snaps from Sunday. Great day had by all, (apart from clutch problems) see you all in April....cheers.

Was good fun! Thanks for letting me tag along. The fuel economy doesn't change to much even when its driven spiritedly. I've gotten a little used to being at the front and like the space in front of me :) plus I always feel nervous when people sit really close so I tried to keep a nice gap.

Thanks for a great run again! After not being able to attend for a while, it was definitely worth the effort! Even if I had clutch problems! Got the clutch in yesterday to Dantrans in Everton Hills. They squeezed me in and got the clutch line off. Found that not only had the clutch line split but the metal coupling into the engine had split open too! He is pretty baffled as to how that happened but non-the-less. He had it fixed in a day and a new line and coupling later. I have use of my clutch again! :) Ready for the next run! haha
