Lowering Plate Issues

Hi All,
 
As some of you know i've beeing trying to put in a circular shifter surround, and one day when i thought i had got it right.........
On the way to Al Palmers to meet up with the guys.
I lost first gear, .... find i'm in a hurry i'll just use the other gears.
 
I loose 3rd gear, this might get a little difficult.
 
I loose 5th Gear, well i knew that when i first tested it.
 
I loose reverse gear,........ better turn the car around and go home to fix the problem
 
I have the standard blue lower plate you get from the UK, and using the later model shifter. It seems its hits the top of the lowering plate and doesn't move any further not engaging the gear.
 
Before i think i about putting in the shifter that comes with the Lowering plate. Can anyone who has used the plate with standard shifter show me a photo of what i'm doing wrong?
 
(BTW i've check the round circle surround and not used it incase it was hitting that)
