Replacing ATS Knock Sensor Query

Hi guys,
 
My knock sensor is potentially faulty so I have grabbed one of the ATS units. Just wondering if its a straight cut and solder job? (cutting the old connector and soldering directly to the new connector - just one wire?). Also does anyone happen to know  the size of the old knock sensor as I think I might need to buy a deep socket to remove it? I am not with the car at the moment but it's a rev 2 gen 2 3sgte. Also, would you normally reccommend using lock tight or similar when installing the new one?
