What transmission oil do you use?

So first transmission oil change in the time I've owned my car
Could have just been done who knows but for peace of mind it will finish my full service on it.

I picked up some nulon automatic transmission oil as its specifies to use it for a manual mr2 it's te multi vehicle stuff race proven blah blah blah was 68$ for 4 litres
Anyone use this? Should I get other stuff before I do the change or is this good enough? In using royal purple ATM engine oil

And I'm not paying 130$ for redline mt90

Anyone else know anything else that's really good? Only want the best for my girl

Also no shifting problems crunching or grinding going on aswell.

Cheers

    Hi Gatesys,
I did some hunting for similar information a couple of months ago & found several previous threads that provided quite a bit of insight into Transaxle oil. My recollection is that Redtarga in Melbourne was one source.
Also my recollection is that Caltex Easy Shift 75W-90 GL4 was suggested as the most suitable. I did find Product Data on a Caltex website & did buy some, but wasn't able to undo drain plug at the time, & haven't got around to getting a suitable socket to remove the plug.

Discussions on the subject of oils can go on forever lol.
IMO, GL4 FTW for both turbo an NA boxes.
You wont find it in places like Supercheap or Repco etc, and may have to get it ordered in, but worth the effort.
Stay away from anything with GL4/GL5, GL5, or GL6 on the container.

    Currently I use Amsoil  75W-90  GL4 (product code MTG-01)
Have used it now  for about 30k kms with nice smooth shifting and no synchro problems in my S54 box.  IMO well worth the money.
