AW11 Boss Adaptor Removal

Hi everyone

I`ve recently purchased a 1987 MR2. I am getting it ready to go over the pits and am on my last job. It has a snapped indicator stalk - I have a replacement one but the car was shipped with an aftermarket Boss steering wheel. I have managed to get everything off apart from this damn adaptor that is stuck on the splines. I have tried everything, waggling it, rubber mallet, wd40 etc etc. Any tips on how to get this off - I am scared I`m going to break something!
I went to SCA to get a steering wheel puller but they were out of stock - would this work coz the adaptor seems to have small threaded holes for the bolts for the steering wheel

All suggestions welcome thanks
Cheers

screw the steering wheel back on with all the little screws. hold it firm and undo the big central nut. once that's done you shoudl be able to use the steering wheel to wiggle it off.

just whack it to some good music with a nice drum loop to lossen it!

Just thought I should probably mention that I think this has happened because a little grease wasn't applied when the boss kit was fitted.

If your handy, you can make a steering wheel puller. That is what i did, and It is one of most borrowed ssts!, dont try to wiggle it or tap it, it WILL damage the steering column!!!

just to close off this thread...... eventually got the damn thing off though it didnt fair too well. It cracked along the back. Was putting the original wheel back on anyway so not too bothered. I used a harmonic balance remover in the end with some longer bolts bought from bunnings screwed into the adaptor

    cheers everyone for the input
