Car Help...1991 Toyota Mr2

Hey Guys,
I need some quick help...
I have only recently joined this forum and have never owned an MR2 before, however, i am looking at purchasing my first one in the next couple of days and i need an answer really quick...

the car i am looking at a friend found and it is a 1991 toyota mr2 with a 2.0l engine, non-turbo
I have done some googling and it says that it is the 2.0l engine that has the turbo and it is a 2.2l engine that is the naturally aspirated version. This is kinda paramount because i am on my P's. So this is where the question starts...is this 2.0l engine a normal stock one straight from toyota factory or is it from another model or the turbo one?

I don't really want to be purchasing one if it has been chopped and changed especially because the owner says it is bone stock.

My dad was also wondering how bad the snap-oversteer is??

Thanks

Here in Australia all MR2s have 2.0L engines stock whether they are turbo or not. However in America they got the 5SFE engine instead of the 3SGE engine which is a 2.2L. These engine were never available in MR2s here. As for snap oversteer, you wont be reaching the limits of the car on public roads to need to warrant worrying about it. MR2s are a very stable ride regardless of the many negative opinions on snap oversteer.

yep we have the 3sge here in aus which is a lot better platfrom as is aniway. people have been throwing around "snap oversteer" way too much whenever they discuss mr2 handling charcteristic. most of them diddnt even experience the meaning of it first hand (they just thought they did) lol.

Why do people say "grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive if you really wanna get tough, grow a vagina! Those things take a pounding!

The 1st generation of sw20 mr2's will bite you a bit faster than the last of them. the last of the sw20's had longer rear toe rods and wider rear tyres in an effort to combat the lift off oversteer! Over all they are still a fairly safe car as long as you respect the fact that if you go a bit too fast into a corner, you'd better think fast if you want to drive the car out of it's slide.  I have a video here of the 1st time I took my sw20 on a race track. I nearly spin the thing during a lift off oversteer moment. But then come undone in the same spot while trying to apply the power a bit too early. Don't show this to your old man!
